Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Running my first FM game in about 2 months with Mainz. Running on some consistency, unusual for me. 1 loss, 6 draws and 8 wins. Had a run of 12 games with X W D W X W X W X W X W. Third after 13 games, with 15 goals scored & 8 conceded. 24 points.

Signings were Hitzlsperger, Guido Pizarro & Lucas Gaicho. None of them have really set it alight. Thats been down to Andreas Ivanschitz & Niko Bungert.

Team hasn't been too hard to get into a pomp. Rigid/Counter with default on everything else. Editted the time wasting scroller, disabled a few Long Shots on people and got the Ball Winner (Eugen Polanski) to be more attacking.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Started my first season (in about six months) as Fulham. Almost half way through the season so far and things are looking pretty decent.

Got rid of Andy Johnson and brought in Danny Welbeck (on loan), Siem De Jong, Guti on a free, Florian Trinks and Allan Mcgregor. De Jong, Demebele and Kasami have made a pretty great partnership.

Still in the Carling cup with United, Chelsea, Liverpool, City and Arsenal all out. So liking my chances there.
10th in the league but only about 5 points before 4th. I'm pretty much targeting a Europa League spot for the first season so I'm fairly close to what I want.

Is anybody else like me and live on this game for a few weeks, clocking up to 3 hours a night, and then not playing it for weeks, even months?

I'm like that as well. I was playing an Everton game nonstop, then after January transfer window in 2014 I just stopped.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

i usually do that, but sometimes i'll just have it sit on the background deciding whether or not to do anything. that's why my hour count is so high, sometimes i'll have it open for like 8 hours and advance like 2 days

Haha... Actually on my last game I did the exact same thing. I always enjoy the first season and get bored after that, and think I know why as well.

Started a game and he only players I brought in were Welbeck on loan and Diogo, the rest were all first team Everton regulars. We finished 4th last day of the season, with Welbeck scoring about 30 overall and the fans loved him and he had the highest percent of happiness he could. All through the season he was being a rebel and turning down United contracts. Pre-season his loan finishes, I go to sign him, United accept and he won't join. He had just scored 30 goals, became a legend, wouldn't get a game at United and kept turning down their contracts, yet still wouldn't accept. I try to get a replacement and at Christmas I'm in about 15th back to scoring 1 every 2 or 3 games from any player. I had strengthened the squad in places that needed it, but just doesn't click. Happens every time. So in January you let Baines go and get cover for him, sign a few players to bolster the squad and some good little buys, yet the game doesn't improve, you get to the end of the second season in the bottom half of the table with a big wage bill and Welback has played like, 10 sub appearances for United and scored 2, whereas your new striker has played 40 and scored less than 10. Haha.

It's almost always impossible to improve in enjoyment in this game from the first season.

I had the exact same thing happen as West Brom, I loaned Gervinho and Oxlade-Chamberlain(different seasons), won the league and both were turning down contracts, both had really low future fee clauses and yet wouldn't even open contract talks.

Then the loans end, both of them come out and say they'd be interested in a move as they have no future at arsenal and I have to sign Gervinho for double the price I could have got him for.

Really didn't like that mechanic.

During football season i rack up ridiculous ammount of time on it and then i'll stop like you said for few weeks. I've only just started to get back into it after not playing it since end of may/early june.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Bonucci is at his maximum PA of 158 so thats pretty close to paying 20m for. His value was 9m and I told Juve I wanted 25, but they countered 20 and I took it when I saw Barza listed yet himself at 158 too

KIZ if you want some youth should sign Lucas Andersen, Romario, Lucas Ocampos, Marco Verratti and Alvaro Morata. A midfield of Toulalan/Valero/Hamsik looks BOSS tho.
