add kara, yttergard from tromso and henriksen from rosenborg.

there's a shitload in south africa to. xulu from sundowns, andile jali from orlando pirates, teko modise from sundowns, itumeleng khune from kaizer chiefs, tshabalala from kaizer too. most of these guys move on straight at the beginning, and should collectively cost about 10 mil for all of them. yttergard/badelj in center mid with kara as a dm behind them is great, can get all 3 for under 5 mil collectively if you're lucky.

Kara is great, i'd also add Bressan in that good cheapie list along with Sanogo, Fierro, Erick Torres, Romario from Vitoria, Luis Guilherme from Botafogo, Prestia, Bertolacci, Kovacic, Alderweirald, Dzagoev, Strootman etc depending on how high you want to go. Snrubs list of South Africans is good as well.

Well what do you expect if you're 10th? Challenge for the title means the board expects you up in the top 2 at a push 3 for the entire season. Qualify for CL means they expect about a 3-5 place through most of the year, Euro place is around 5-8 while mid table and avoid relegation are pretty self explanatory.
I know what they mean...

Well, my starting XI, when I didn't have injuries was:

GK Wojciech Szczesny (SK)
RB Bacary Sagna (FB)
CB Laurent Koscielny (CB)
CB Thomas Vermaelen (BPD)
LB Kieran Gibbs (FB)
CDM Alex Song (A)
CM Mikel Arteta (CM)
CM Jack Wilshere (AP)
RW Theo Walcott (IF)
LW Lucas Podolski (IF)
ST Robin Van Persie (CF)/Olivier Giroud (CF)

But for the last two months my midfield was more like Ramsey, Lansbury, M'Vila...

And I had it set on fluid, attacking.

WHY THE FUCK DO I KEEP FUCKING LOSING IN THIS FUCKING GAME!

The only team I can be consistent with is Barcelona, otherwise i'm just fucking losing 4-1 to bottom of the table Reading, and losing 4-0 against Stoke.

Seriously, I'm a terrible player. Maybe because I don't micro-manage enough, but I never seem to have things work out according to weekly previsions.
I'm playing with Benfica and I got kicked out of the Champions League by Udinese, and now from the Europa League against Lazio in a completely one-sided match. Regardless of instructions or strategies, it's always the opposition that creates dangerous plays and has most of the ball possession.
I wouldn't mind if I was playing against Real or any other team where I'm not the favourite, but when all the odds are pointing towards my winning, it's annoying as hell.

I'd set your mentality to be 'control' instead of 'attacking', I've always found more success that way. Against poorer teams I'd also not go with a defensive midfielder and play with a man behind the striker instead. I'm not sure how you're getting hammered by teams like that with the team you've stated above - so I'm presuming it is entirely tactics based.

Try setting all passing to short, other than the two wingers and the striker. Make sure all the individual player instructions have long shots set to rarely, or else you'll have a million shots off target every game. Make your own set piece tactics, if you already haven't - I find a lot of goals can come from those if you set them out right; aiming your corners to one of the posts is usually good.

i play counter against even level and better teams, and attacking against teams below me. im even using counter with teams like psg because i got pacy wingers in nene and lavezzi and a pacy striker in gameiro. cant go wrong with 4-2-3-1 set to balanced/countering. if you get fired using that formation then the game hates you.

Okay, so decided that I'd do a United game a while back since I haven't played FM in awhile and thought best to go with something I was familiar with. Just past the January window, sometime early February. From November onwards, it's been a four horse title picture; us, City, Arsenal & Spurs. We're at the top of the table now, I think it's about a five point lead over City in second, Arsenal and Spurs are close on City's tails in 3rd and 4th.

de Gea is my trusted #1, while my back four consist of Ferdinand & Vidic in CB roles, then Evra & Phil Jones (who I'm STILL retraining to play on the right) who play in full back positions. I'm not happy with the center of my midfield; got Scholes playing regularly for about 65 minutes each game, then rotate between Carrick, Park, Cleverly and Giggs (rarely, though). Darren Fletcher seems to be suspended for the whole season; but I don't remember any incident and the game doesn't seem to know currently, either. I play Valencia on the right, primarily; normally Ashley Young on the left, but rotate between Lavezzi (signed in January) and Nani. Young seems to dip out of form a lot so Nani does get his games, and I like to give Valencia breaks while settling in Lavezzi. All wingers played in attacking roles, while set to support, too... and when I can, I'll always play Rooney & Hernandez up front. Got Hernandez to place his shots and fuck me, he's racking in the goals. Welbeck will only come in if one's fucked; and then Berb will get his shot. Trying to offload Berbatov, though; no use for him. Sold Michael Owen and brought in Yaya Sanogo, both relatively cheaply).

Knocked out of the Carling Cup by Spurs when I decided to give the young lads a run. Couldn't care less, mind you; still going in the FA Cup & the Champions League; in the quarter finals, I think? Either way waiting for the next draw. I know we beat Benfica in the knockouts, anyway. Transfer wise, only brought in aforementioned Lavezzi & Sanogo.

Suppose that's it for now.

OK, thanks guys, i'll try these out, and no one even really takes long shots in my squad other than Cabaye, who's banging them in, AND I have created set pieces that work quite often
(near post to Mbiwa). I've started another one with England, and i'm having great success so far for some reason... 2-2 against Argentina, 2-2 against Spain, 5-1 against Bulgaria, 4-0 against Wales. Danny Welbeck normally comes off the bench around the 70th minute and he's already got 5 goals in 6 games.

EDIT: OH, those results were from my Newcastle game btw, not Arsenal. That Arsenal squad was from a few weeks ago, where I got fired.

my standard tactics from memory are; 4-2-3-1, control, direct passing, pressing, drill crosses, high defensive line, wide, high tempo.

Always buy pacy wingers, fast strikers, 2 creative players to play AMC and Cm, one ball wining mid, fullbacks set to wingbacks so no matter where on the field they can play triangles. Basically in defense its like having a team layed out like

GK

FB CB CB FB

CM CM

AMR AMC AML

ST

then in attack

GK

CB CB

FB CM CM FB

AMR AMC AML

ST

The fullbacks can even press higher up on the wing so the winger on that side moves more centrally or drops back to the edge of the 18 yard box.
