When i go to task manager and try to end the process i receive a message saying the steam servers are busy and that there is an error.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Right, so i've taken a break from this game recently and i'm going to get back into it. I want to have a long-term job (the longest i've had is 2 years ) and I need to decide between Arsenal or Newcastle United. Which one? Here are my ideal starting line-ups for season 1:

ARSENAL
---???---
---Sagna---Koscielny---Vermaelen---Debuchy---
---M'Vila---
---Wilshere---Arteta---
---Gervinho---Van Persie---Podolski---

NEWCASTLE UNITED
---Krul---
---Debuchy---Coloccini---???---Santon---
---Ben Arfa---Cabaye---Tiote---Gutierrez---
---Ba---Cisse---

I would need help with positions and tactics though, because i'm not very good at setting the right tactic and I don't know what each position actually means.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Arsenal would be a very easy game. Not sure on how much money they get in the 12.2 update but its easily enough to buy the missing pieces and win the title.

I had a great Newcastle save on fm11. That was a fun challenge. Not difficult but not easy.

Tactics are pretty simple, look at the players you have in your squad. They'll generally fit a certain way of playing. I always use a 4-2-3-1 and slot the players in and see who i should buy based off that.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

I use 4-2-2-2 or 4-2-3-1 for every team I play with, it usually works.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

I was on a great run of winning 4-0, 5-1, 5-0 and now Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosicky and Mikel Arteta are all out for 4 months. Now I can't score anything.

Jack Wilshere is fucking brilliant in my Arsenal team btw.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

I always set up a 4-4-2 and a 4-2-3-1/4-5-1 tactic, then usually another like a 3-5-2 with my Genoa game.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

4-2-3-1 is my primary tactic with my back up being a standard 4-4-2. The 3rd tactic that i train depends on the players but usually its either a 4-2-2-2 or 4-5-1 (virtually the same as my 4-2-3-1 but with the AMC as a DM instead). Sometimes i'll set up a tactic like a 5-2-3 with 5 at the back (3 in the centre, 2 wingbacks), 2 CM, 2 wingers and an AMC and no striker. Depends on the situation but it usually works well if the team you're playing needs a win/is chasing goals (and you have relatively pacy wingers)
