Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Yeah if you have a huge wage budget/lots of space in that budget then the players agent will ask for way higher wages than if your budget was small seeing as as far as they're concerned you can afford it.

This season i've started out really poorly, but i did qualify fot the champions league and i'm in a group with madrid, spurs, and kobenhavn. Need to improve my league position and hopefully sign M'Vila in the joker window.

So far this year;

Ins: Griezmann (7 mil), Boudebouz (10 mil), Miranda (300k)
Outs: Lacombe, Bouchite, Valette, Djabou, Santisteva, Pitau, Jeunechamp, Legras (free), Mezague (300k), Coulomb (325k), Koita (1.5 mil), Utaka (1.6 mil), Dabo (loan)
to follow up on this, 2nd season at Montpellier went pretty great, squad is pretty decent now. Won the League, French Cup and Champions League so i'm pretty stoked about that.

Was pushed all the way by Lyon and Marseille, i didn't wrap it up until the final day despite ending the season with 28 wins, 8 draws and only 2 losses. Lyon had 28 wins, 7 draws and 3 losses and Marseille dropped off right towards the end of the year and finished with 26 wins, 7 draws, 5 losses.

French Cup was pretty easy, don't think i played a good team all competition. The only 'good' side was Bordeaux and they had a shit season and got relegated.

Champions League i got drawn with Madrid, Tottenham and Kobenhavn. Finished undefeated and top of the group with 12 points, Madrid on 9, Spurs on 8. Got CSKA Moscow in the first KO round, won 6-4 on aggregate, beat Sporting 3-1 on aggregate in the quarters, beat Marseille 6-2 on aggregate in the semis and beat Madrid (again) 3-1 in the final. Was 1-0 up early and then Albiol got sent off after 6 mins so i cruised all the way.

from the Jan window, * means a regen.

Ins: Emlek* (free), Ohyanagi* (800k), Paulo* (6.75 mil), van Hoevan* (3.3 mil), Sommer (6.25 mil)
Outs: Camara (1.7 mil), Estrada (8 mil), Bocaly (4.9 mil)

Now onto this season, lost whatever the french equivalent of the community shield 3-2 to Lyon but i've won both my league games thus far.

Ins: M'Vila (30 mil), Parodi*(2.2 mil), Fierro (17 mil), Mphuthi* (3.1 mil)
Outs: Ohyanagi (180k loan), Sanogo (550k loan), Jourdren (4.7 mil), Saihi (1.8 mil)

I really wanted M'Vila cheaper but Rennais recovered and didn't get relegated last season and i couldn't sign him before then as he didn't want to come.

Griezmann may just be my favourite buy ever on FM12. Picked him up for 7 mil as his side got relegated and he was on form practically the entire year except the last month or so seeing as i played him in so many games but he ended up with 51 appearances, 22 goals, 36 assists with an average rating of 7.72. For 7 mil thats a steal. He won the champions league best player, in 12 gmes he got 7 goals and 11 assists for a rating of 7.97.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Where do you play Griezemen in your formation? To me he's a very awkward player for my usual formations as he plays AMLC. Do you train him in something else or how do you go about getting the best out of him?

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

i play a 4-2-3-1 with Griezmann as my left winger. So with a full strength side it looks something like

Sommer

Romario Mbiwa Kara Bedimo

Allen M'Vila

Boudebouz Bellhanda Griezmann

Fierro

with Giroud (ST), Torres (AMC/ST), Paulo (AML/C), Stambouli (DC/DM + competant at CM), El Kaoutari (DL/C) + regens providing able to slot in without really losing anything from that team.

Fullbacks are set as wingback/automatic, centre backs set as central defender/defend, the 2 in the centre are set as a ball winning mid and a deep lying playmaker/advanced playmaker depending on who i have there. AML and AMR are just wingers/attack, AMC is set as attacking mid/trequartista and striker as a poacher.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

yeah, Erick Torres. Both him and Fierro are cheap if you buy thm at the start of the game. France only allows you 4 non EU players so i went with Torres as i already had Giroud and Sanogo as strikers. Should've got Fierro back then though.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

This is the first time i've ever bought him and i loaned him out this season. In the 2 years he was here he was behind Giroud and Torres but he did have a knack of scoring. He'd probably be excellent for any mid range team, and pretty good for any top range.

^^^ looks pretty good.
