Awesome. I just thought it might be different with an Olympic team, but I guess it isn't. Thanks

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

I just finished my 1st season with Arsenal as well. Came 3rd, i had a pretty similar team except I splashed on Llorente instead of Podolski. Liverpool did the double and i took the FA Cup with the best team i beat in going to the final being Tottenham and then Everton in the Final.

Top of the group, 2 wins over Barca and they're knocked out.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

went back to my Droylsden save, finished my second season winning the FA trophy again and stealing the BSP league title on the last day In January of my third season and I'm 11th in league 2, which is good because i want a season to stabilise and get all my best players on full time deals and training, which means ive only been able to sign young regens with potential (and a new gk/left winger) but im quite a bit over my wage budget and my board is pissed since im already bleeding money on a new pitch for my stadium, another expansion of my ground and finally getting youth facilities/new training facilities. Hopefully I get a decent mid table finish though so I can improve financially and build on this for promotion in a year or two. In the JPT north final too, but I'm against Sheff Utd so I doubt I'd get past them over two legs (although I've sneaked wins against Peterborough, Barnsley and Doncaster in cups so far, which I've never done in my last two seasons)

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Need a few tips on players to buy. Just about to finish my first season with Coventry and only just above the relegation zone. Seriously lacking in firepower, although playing McSheffrey up front in the second half of the season has helped, he won't score enough to push towards the play-offs next season.

Problem is, I don't expect to have any money to spend in the summer so I need to buy players on a shoestring. Could probably do with a few other decent players elsewhere in the side, so any affordable players that will help my cause would be grateful. But a striker is top priority.

Pick up someone on Loan.... Hit up an EPL team for a Loanee. The only time I played a lower league team so far in FM 2012, Nile Ranger from Newcastle and A few Liverpool kids were all easily available.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Cheapest, best option for lower league teams are loanees, and Scottish league players.

Coaching Santiago Wanderers in Chile. Can't settle on a side. Think I've got the ideal situation now, though. Finished 4th in the Apartura 2012, but won the playoffs for the Libertadores competition. Had a terrible Clausura, finished 8th, was just enough to qualify for the playoffs. Lost in the semi-finals. So, added some defensive qualities to the team, and added more aggression into my midfield players, fight for the ball. Started slowly for the Apartura 2013, but has started to work. Came with a 2-2 draw to Monterrey, which I look as progression.

3rd at the moment in the domestic league, got to beat Liga de Quito of Ecuador to qualify for the second round of the Copa Libertadores. Amusing balancing around on £200 a week. These players are Championship quality, and get paid the same wages as a Blue Square N/S player.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Look for loans from prem teams, and free transfers from people they let go from their youth teams + old players that will still go good in the championship.

With a really low team like league 2/bsp etc i just search for striker + pace, and a little bit of finishing never goes amiss.
