Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Decided to join the Man U game bandwagon, at the moment it's hard to find some players for the centre of midfield that aren't too expensive.

Did not buy anyone in the first season. The real shit started going down at the start of the second season.

How'd you manage to get Bale for just £18m? Did he have a year left on his contract?

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Declared interest and he said something alone the lines of "It'd be a dream come true to play for Manchester United and the manager and I hope it results in a formal bid."

I made a series of bids, as high as 25mil, that was rejected as a final offer, he states he was unhappy and Spurs came back offering me him for 18mil a week later.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Just picked Ronaldo up for 35 million after noticing that he wasn't registered in Madrid's CL team, then noticing that he was on the transfer list. No idea why, don't care though. Welcome back Ronny!

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Real Madrid just tried to sign my star young midfielder for £41.5million. I'm all for cash, for this is one of those times had to stick with the guy.

Also got to praise Cesena's trasfer bargains. They bought a player from River Plate for £120k, and I just bought him for £34million. Totally worth it. Had the stats for an amazing engine player at 18, by 22, could be the best in the world. They also signed 3 other Argentinians for very cheap prices, and made them spectacular.

Rodwell cost me 13 mil, which wasn't too bad because he was my only signing. Anderson has actually been really good though, both in a BWM role and an AP role, depending on who I partner him with.

Barkley and Thiago both look like very good deals at their prices for Emp, as well as Bale obviously. I'll probably look at Thiago at the end of this season. Rooney has been great in the AM role, but Morrison isn't going to make the cut, and that leaves only Cleverly as backup.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Everyone except the United fan.

Welbeck just put four past Sunderland in the first half. He and Cleverly have both been very handy players. That officially ends any chance of Berbatov getting another game too. He's gone in January.

Also, Ravel Morrison is currently being touted as the next David Dunn. Some big hype.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

The one player I did not want to play more than 10 games this season, will end up with about 25. He has a lack of good mental stats, needs a bit more time to develop. But, Pastore suffered a 5 month lay-of, and my Wenger mentallity mean't I didn't fill out some good alternative back-up options.

With the Pastore injury, sending Kagawa on loan, had a terrible start to the season. Numerous players picking up a red, Romario picking up a 2 month injury, put me down to 8th. The team has fought back, however. Fantastic return, includes me beating Lyon in a extremely one sided game. Only ended 1-0, but held 70% possession and gave them 0 chances. All thats left now, is to cut down the massive gap to Marseile. My first title victory included me cutting down a 15 to 18 point gap (cant exactly remember) to win on goal difference. Getting a similar feeling here.
