Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Okay, in my 4th season at Leverkusen. Won the league 3 years straight, haven't managed to make it past the quarters in the CL which is frustrating me. Last season i thought i was on track for at least the semis but injuries dicked me around hugely. Ended up losing to Bayern in the quarters.

Squad at the moment is

GK: Ter-stegen, Adler, Guillhaume
DF: Vrsaljko, Kjaer, Vertonghen, Alderweirald, Robinson, Agger, Da Costa couple of gun regens one of which is capped 12 times by Germany and is the captain.
MF: Hamsik, Hazard, Augusto, Honda, Weiss, Bertolacci, Kovacic, Schurrle, Barnetta
FW: Kadlec, Zarate, Alcacer, good regen

should easily be good enough to make it through the group, just need some luck with the draw in the knockouts. Will be pretty disappointed if i don't at least make the final.

7 games in, 24 goals for, 2 against every highest rating for my side

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

He's a monster this year, although only when you're using him. When you play against him, he's fairly useless actually. Lavezzi is more of a problem to handle.

Between Lavezzi, Hamsik and Cavani, there's always one that scores a vital goal that you need. Really solid base to build upon at Napoli, especially with the huge budget you get in the second season.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

that's the champions league final btw

just finished an INVINCIBLES season, undefeated in the league, lost in the italian cup semi's to juventus and obviously won the champions league. my current squad:

goalkeepers: van ter stegen, de sanctis, rosati

defenders: di silvestri, nesta (retiring), cannavaro, campagnaro (retiring), bocchetti, samba, dossena, maggio

midfielders: hamsik, fernandinho, badelj, labyad, inler, kagawa

wingers/strikers: lavezzi, guardado, wilfried, cavani, sanogo (loan)

this is for season 2012/13 btw.

transfers in:
labyad (free)
lenny nangis (850k)
wilfried (2.5 mil)
guardado (free)
nesta (free)
samba (22.5 mil)
kagawa (17.25 mil)
derflinger (free)
di silvestri (1.6 mil)
sanogo (loan)
ter stegen (4.5 mil)
and a couple of regens.

alot of the bigger fees had money over 48 months. based on ratings across all comps the top 5 were:

cavani (46 goals/11 assists in 54 appearances, avg rating of 7.58)
hamsik (21 goals/27 assists in 55 appearances, avg rating of 7.57)
lavezzi (15 goals/17 assists in 53 appearances, avg rating of 7.40)
guardado (8 goals/12 assists in 40 appearances, avg rating of 7.38)
bocchetti (5 goals/1 assist in 51 appearances, avg rating of 7.33)

so yeah, hoping to win everything on offer in 2013/14 and push some youngsters into the team to replace nesta/campagnaro

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

does anyone look at the lower league teams under 18s to see if they have any decent prospects i seem to find lots of youngsters that are god enough for the premier league in the future and hardly have to spend more than 100k per player
