Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*
Went back to my United save, 11.3, summer update V06 (all but transfer deadlines).
Building a squad so far resembling;
Goalkeeper: Hugo Lloris/David de Gea
Defender (R): Rafael/Smalling
Defender (cr): Vidic/Jones
Defender (cl): Ferdinand/Evans
Defender (L): Evra/Fabio
Midfield (R): Darren Fletcher/Sergio Busquets
Midfield (L): Anderson/Tom cleverley
Attacking Midfield (R): Nani/Antonio Valencia
Attacking Midfield (L): Eden Hasard/Ashley Young
Striker (L): Wayne Rooney/Luuk de Jong
Striker (R): Gonsalo Higuain/Javier Hernandes
Felt compelled to go for Lloris & Higuain because I haven't really had a game with Lloris, and I had a tactic in particular which I wanted Higuain to play. Lloris cost me just under £50million, whereas Higuain cost me just under £95million. Surprisingly, I made a profit by the year end. I've had two absolute terrific regens come through. One seemingly the 'next Theo Janssen' (with 195 P.A) and the other a better Marc Albrighton (191 P.A). Those were the result of my youth recruitment. Brought in a few others, one destined to replace Vidic, hailed the next 'Desailly'.
Best players are Higuain, Vidic, Anderson, Valencia, Young & Rafael. Rafael is putting in an average of 10 successful tackles a game, Anderson is working in a tactic where Marek Hamsik played in the exact same role, and was very average. Valencia's surprised me more, since I played him in 18 games last season. Nani being first choice. Suppose Nani's PPMs ruin his average ratings.
The next 'big' signing I'll probably go for is Jack Rodwell, to replace Darren Fletcher, since hes in his 30s.. Busquets doesn't work out for the role.
