Personally I would've signed my boy Roque and flogged off Crouch, he's shite IRL and in FM, but amazingly, he seems to be doing ok for you Hulk.
Massive lol @ Palermo and Bari topping the table, Inter are 4th behind me, AC are 7th, Juve 8th and Roma 12th. Fiorentina are 18th
Ridiculous season.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*
Re-loaded my Everton game.
Conned Genoa into buying Beckford for 2.9 mil, leaves in Jan. Just beat Liverpool 1-0, I only had 2 shots on target (from 5 overall), Liverpool had 6 (from 21).
Bout fucking time I got one of those, instead of being on the other end of it. Mucha has not conceded a goal in 360 minutes. He's only made 4 starts. Hasn't conceded in any of them. He'll be playing a lot more as well.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*
Also, is it just me, or do you get fucked in the ass by cup draws quite frequently if you're a large team.
League cup for example
In the quarter finals, Bristol City, Nottingham Forrest, Sheffield, Fulham, West Ham, Blackburn all remain. All would be good opponents for me. Who do I get? Manchester United.
Seems to be a continual trend, where in my Villa game I got Chelsea in the third round, managed to beat them 1-0 and then got Liverpool next round.

Huddlestone can't get going for me. What role do you give him to get him playing so well? Box to box?

I've got Rafael & Roque on loan too, and Roque's been poor for me in pre-season. Keane's good though, better than Roque. I've only played one league game, opening at City and losing 2-0, although Barry scored in the 93rd minute after a Tevez tap in from a Kolo Toure free-kick . Rafael (6.0) & Gallas (5.7) were piss poor. Corluka actually had a great pre-season but Rafael was just that bit better.

What role do you give him? He's done nothing for me as target man or an advanced forward. He doesn't seem like the poaching type playing on the back of defenders. He's only a back up because Defoe & Liedson are pretty unstoppable, or were until the City game.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*
Try using a Roque as a Deep-Lying Forward (Support) playing off of a Poacher like Defoe with someone who can pass the ball well in midfield playing the ball in front of Defoe. Santa Cruz may not get a lot of goals that way but he will rack up the assists and take defenders out of the game.

I was going to do this at the start, but Crouch was playing well for me. I'll be getting Santa Cruz at the end of the season anyway, so it doesn't matter. I'm actually astounded Crouch is playing well. He and Lennon absolutely rack up the assists.

I have him back playing the supporting role w/as a deep lying midfielder. His passing has been good and when he gets given the ball to have a blast from long range he's surprisingly accurate.
I'm surprised at how poor Rafael was for you because he hasn't had a bad game for me. The only person who's actually had a stinker of a game was Assou-Ekotto who handed Birmingham a goal with an awful back pass. I won 4-1 anyway, but he still had an end rating of 5.3.
What Bradley said works well. I played him up front with Pavlyuechenko one game against Wolves to give my others a rest and he got two assists (both given to Pavly who was playing as a complete forward) and also put one in himself. I haven't played him up there with just Defoe because I generally bring him on when I'm in need of goals and go to a 4-3-3 instead, but if he works well with Pavly (who has awesome finishing, I must say) then I'd imagine he'd be good with Defoe too.

The left back problem is a pain in the ass. I wanted to get Danny Wilson on loan from Liverpool with a view to getting him down the line so he could rotate with Assou-Ekotto, but he didn't want to go anywhere after just signing with Liverpool. Bale is playing very well upfield too, so I've stuck with Assou-Ekotto. He hasn't been too bad actually, but I would like to have some backup apart from Bale.
Also, something amusing from last night. I absolutely crushed Wolves 4-0, despite the pricks injuring TWO of my players in the first half (Karl Henry is a .... on the game too), and then their manager came and slagged me off in the media for the style of football we played. I found it rather ironic.

I have him as an Advanced Forward and he's already got 10 goals for me and I just hit Jan. When I partner him with Palacio who is either an Advanced Forward or Deep Lying Attack, he's the sex. Surprised he's not working for you like that. Best thing is even if he's the only one up front, he's still usually dangerous.

He just came to me and said he's habving trouble settling so I gave him a month off to find himself. Never happened before to me in FM.
