I got the mighty Notts County from League 2 all the way up to the Premier League. Promoted each season, I just relied on getting quality loans and free transfers from players at the end of contracts at first, but then I went into administration in February of my season, and was expecting the club to go under. Instead, we got bought by some rather rich guy who keeps giving me decent transfer budgets. During the administration period, we were deducted 10 points and I still managed to win the league by a single point.
Managed to put together a decent team, though this time I'm tipped for relegation having just made it into the Premier League through the play-offs.
My team (not too sure about the formation, really need to work on it in pre-season otherwise I'm going to get raped.
Danny Simpson, Michael Dawson, Craig Cathcart, Mane
Diaby, Rosicky, dos Santos
Also got the following players, but its bloody hard to get them into my team (I pretty much raided United when they went into serious debt) - Darron Gibson, Zoran Tosic, Obertan, Michael Owen and Macheda. Also signed Dan Gosling and Adrian Mutu on a free.
During my seasons in Leauge 2, League 1 and the Championship I got massive wage budgets which is why I could afford all of them I think, but now I'm in the Premier League there's very little talent avaliable on my transfer budget of £10 million, and there's no one I really want to cut to make the 25-player squad limit.
During my season in the Championship, I made it to the League Cup final, where we lost 4-0 to Spurs
In earlier rounds I had gone ultra-defensive against United and Liverpool, and ended up beating each of them 1-0 with some counter-attacking goals.
After getting promoted from the Championship, Sir Alex retired at United and they offered me the job. They'd finished 7th in the league the season before (United always turn to shit on FM), and they promised me a huge transfer budget, but I didn't want to see some no-good manager get my Notts County team relegated, so I turned United down
