Re: Official Video Game Purchase Help Thread
For anyone that's thinking about getting Tony Hawk's Project 8, I'd rent it first. It's defiantly a good game in my eye, but it's not a keeper. It's something that will collect a lot of dust after a couple of weeks.
I found that out the hard way

Burnout Revenge is a nice cheap game for the 360.
The sense of speed is the highest of any racer out there.
Oh, and this thread is now stickied.

I'll have to agree. The storyline is rather linear, but I still think it is the best Tony Hawk game since Underground 1.

I'm thinking about getting Rockstar Games presents Table Tennis, but I'd like to hear some thought on it. The price is good, looks pretty fun, but IDK

Re: Official Video Game Purchase Help Thread
Has anyone bought the HD-DVD Player to go along with the 360? I was looking at it the other day and was wondering if it's worth the price tag?

Fear sucks. No one should ever, ever buy Fear. I feel so stupid for not buying The Godfather instead...can't believe how highly this game has been rated, I rely on Gamespot for nearly everything and they really let me down. They didn't mention how if you're already played Half-Life, than you're pretty much already played Fear. Fear is a rip-off of both Half-Life and Silent Hill, yet nowhere near as good as either. There are much better games out there, don't buy Fear.

I downloaded the demo today and thought it was pretty fun. Granted I probably won't buy this immeadiately but I'll probably buy this sometime down the line. Right now the demo is good enough for me.

Re: Official Video Game Purchase Help Thread
I saw heaps of Hype for fear with the specs being large, Gameplay/AI inovations and The Ring-esque promo movies on the website, I'm not surprised it didn't live up to that hype.
To people who have a DS a recomend Children of Mana.

Yeah it's a good game.....for about 10 minutes. I would rent this game first and if you like it...then buy it. I got it for Christmas and I haven't played it since Christmas.

I really don't understand how you can say Fear is a complete rip off of half life, i love half life and have played it as well as fear and they are completely different games and in no way did i ever feel i was playing the other one all over again.
Fear is a game that plays on your insecurities and makes you try and predict what is going to happen next when really something else happens. It is a fantastic combination of horror/action that makes it such an awesome game that has elements that not even half life can match.
Half Life more or often is an action game that is combined with problem solving as to get past certain parts of the game you have to figure out the best method rather than blast your way through and you can wander a bit less cautiously than you ever would in Fear. Half Life had certain parts that could slightly startle you eg. Half life 2 had Ravenholm but after that you were back blasting combine soldiers.
But i guess it is more of what your into rather than anything and you have to try out the game because everyone has varied opinions.
