Multi Platform

Developer: Telltale Games

Release Date: April 18th, 2017

Quote:
Marvelís Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series delivers a brand new story of the universeís unlikeliest heroes, the rag-tag band of outlaws who go by the names Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot.

In the wake of an epic battle, the Guardians discover an artifact of unspeakable power. Each of the Guardians has a reason to desire this relic, as does a ruthless enemy who is the last of her kind, and who will stop at nothing to tear it from their hands.

From Earth to the Milano to Knowhere and beyond, and set to the beat of awesome music, this five-part episodic series puts you in the rocket-powered boots of Star-Lord in an original Guardians adventure, told in the unique and award-winning Telltale style, where your decisions and actions will drive the path of the story you experience.

Re: Are Telltale working on a Guardians Of The Galaxy game?

Interdasting... I haven't gotten around to playing Batman yet, waiting for the end of the season, but I heard the "new and improved" Telltale engine is neither; if that's true and this game, assuming it exists, is built on it, then my enthusiasm would be pretty low. However, if it's built on an engine appropriate for this gen's games I'll probably be all over that.

I do wonder if Telltale has the cachet that they had after Wolf Among Us and TWD season 1, season 2 was seen as slightly dissapointing and GOT was so tragically disappointing I didn't even bother playing episode 6, sure Tales from the Borderlands was amazing but they can't pull that off with every franchise, even one like Minecraft where they weren't constricted by IP canon. Plus the secret's out that your choices don't matter... at all, and given there are adventure games like Life is Strange, Dreamfall Chapters and Until Dawn where your choices really do matter, TTG games don't really stack up so well in comparison these days.

Meh im getting tired with Telltales, the game style lost its novelty by TWD 2 when it became appearent there are no really branching storylines, so unless the story is really good like Wolf Among us or Borderlands for me to over look the limitations i see no point in their games any more.

Blue harvest was the code name for Star Wars.

Awwww yissss. That actually sounds really cool and makes a lot of sense for them. One of the few things that could actually get me excited to play one of their games again.

Not sure about a Guardians Telltale game, but I'd really like a Spider-Man one. A Spider-Man Noir or Miles Morales storyline.

I'm gonna walk right into SmackDown Hotel,

Check into room 3:16 and order a goddamn cheese platter!

Quote:
At The Game Awards tonight, Telltale announced Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: A Telltale Series.

The series will span five episodes and launches in 2017 on PC, consoles, and mobile. In addition to being available digitally, a Season Pass disc will also be available in stores including the first episode as well as downloads of each additional episode as they become available.

No specific platforms or release date were revealed, and we don't yet know whether this will tie into the Marvel Studios films or be an entirely separate story drawing from the comics. According to Telltale CEO and co-founder Kevin Bruner, "players will take on multiple roles within the ragtag band of heroes, and take the pilot's seat in directing their escapades around the universe."

"Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series fully showcases Marvel and Telltale's rich legacy of storytelling, and fans will find themselves immersed in an original, character-driven narrative," Marvel Games & Innovation senior vice president Jay Ong said in a statement. "As part of our strategy to establish a new standard for Marvel games, this is certainly among the great titles to come."

Re: Guardians Of The Galaxy - The Telltale Series

TTG has to be the most overstretched game developer, they always make sure they're working on at least 4 games and they never come close to making their release dates for any of them.

Re: Guardians Of The Galaxy - The Telltale Series

Well that was a trailer...

Still, not the biggest fan of Telltale Games (only played TWD 1 and TWAU), but I did enjoy the movie for GotG so this may be good.
