Re: Spiritual successor to P.T. being made (by fans)
If devs/publishers keep going down this patronizing road of denying fans what they want to see, (not targeted only at Konami, take Half-Life for example), people are just gonna lose interest, or worse - they'll get their fix from somewhere else...which is what has happened here. Specifically speaking, at this point of game development where user/community/indie-created content is at a pinnacle, the "new" and "artistic" ideas are not going to stay that way for much longer.
Take even The Last Guardian for an example. I remember reading this somewhere a while ago and I totally agree. When the Last Guardian was announced as a PS3 exclusive, it seemed like a novel and artisitc piece. It's still artisitic, but in 2009? It would have been really out of this world unique. Now it's just another face in the crowd unique.
This looks good, btw.
Life is tragic simply because the earth turns and the sun inexorably rises and sets, and one day, for each of us, the sun will go down for the last, last time. Perhaps the whole root of our trouble, the human trouble, is that we will sacrifice all the beauty of our lives, will imprison ourselves in totems, taboos, crosses, blood sacrifices, steeples, mosques, races, armies, flags, nations, in order to deny the fact of death, which is the only fact we have.
