Re: Toughest game you have ever played?
Unlocking everything and S ranking every level (on every difficulty) in Shinobi on PS2 is one of the hardest things I've ever done.
Other hard things I've done:
Beating Die Hard Arcade on the Saturn without using the mini game to get extra credits.
Just plain beating MDK 2 on the Dreamcast, and beating the last boss with each character.
Beating Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the NES
Got Diamond Knack on Knack for PS4 - More annoying than hard really
Beating Ninja Gaiden on the NES
Finishing Turtles in Time (SNES) with no deaths, which seems easy to me but apparently other players struggle with that.
Beating Ninja Gaiden (Xbox) on Master Ninja
Beating The Dishwasher Dead Samurai on Samurai Difficulty
Beating Mega Man on the NES
Beating The Adventures of Batman and Robin on the Genesis
Finishing Final Fantasy XII 100%, which means acquiring weapons with ridiculously low drop rates, getting the Zodiac spear, and literally spending hours taking down Yiazmat.
Unlocked everything in the original Playstation version of Resident Evil 2
Did the same with RE 4, and beat the game on Pro with zero deaths and perfect accuracy (used the infinite rocket launcher though)
Finished Mega Man X 4 with no damage, no heart tanks, no E tanks with Zero and without using any weapon the bosses were weak to.
Tough tasks I haven't accomplished:
S ranking every stage in The Red Star (PS2) on each difficulty setting - The last few stages are nearly impossible not to get hit on with all the bullet hell sections. My reflexes aren't that super human
Beating Battletoads on the NES
Getting the Platinum trophy on Bloodrayne Betrayal, which requires the insanely hard task of getting Dhampir rank on every level. I think I've only managed that on the first 3 levels.
Beating any of the Ghouls N Ghosts games
1 Life run of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the Arcade game - Always die in the Technodrome or at Shredder. I can go through the NES port with zero deaths though
1 life run of The Simpson Arcade - That damn final boss battle with Burns and Smithers
Beating God Hand - I could have with enough persistence, but I just lost patience with the game and gave up
