New Starfox game perhaps?

Doesn't mean for Smash Brothers vs Playstation all Stars, but maybe we're getting closer to that.

Isn't that what Metroid Other M was?

This is interesting news. I guess Nintendo will bow out of the home console war with that announcement. It seems like the first step honestly.

Can't wait to see Metroid and Star Fox games on the PS4... Or even PC...

Maybe even F-Zero, which may be unlikely... but cool if so.

It seems like they'll go the Capcom route which would be pretty cool. Would be great to see what Western companies can come up with. Really enjoyed the DmC game from last year, a hidden gem.

But I don't see them bowing out of the home market, though. Would suck with only Sony Vs. Microsoft for the foreseeable future.

I'm up for this, since I enjoyed Metroid: Other M and concede that while it has some faults, they're not as horrific as the naysayers claim they are. Hopefully this means that Shin'en gets a serious chance to become one of Nintendo's major studios like Retro did. After playing FAST Racing League, I can vouch for Shin'en as being the best choice to resurrect the F-Zero series. And considering how lovely the Star Fox universe has been, they could easily take it to the next level and make it drop dead gorgeous while maintaining the series' main playstyle.

Nintendo won’t license its whole portfolio, and will still consider competitiveness (partners will be accepted only if they aren’t direct competitors and a win-win relationship can be forged). This kind of licensing won’t be carried out when it would undermine Nintendo’s interests, and also includes merchandise and media unrelated to games.

The company is already in talks about licensing arrangements with possible partners. No budgets have been set for the moment, but profits are expected in the medium term.

This doesn’t mean that Nintendo’s characters will appear on other platforms. Iwata-san clearly specified that it won’t happen.
I guess I wouldn't be all that surprised if they had PC thingys made.

I can only hope this is what gives us a new good Star Fox and not the rubbish Rare and Namco came up with. Just keep him in the ship (and make it good because Command isn't worth a shit either). Also F-Zero with 30 player online. C'mon, just make them. I'm still worried about Metroid trying to recover from the Team Ninja bomb.

If they would listen to me and make a Smash Bros or Pokemon game with those Disney Infinity figurines they would clean the fuck up. You can plunk down your fucking quagsire thing and destroy everybody.

This has the potential to be very good. Hopefully there will be a revival of a lot of franchises Nintendo neglects.

The whole figurine thing would be perfect for Pokemon, though I'd hate it if they did it for Smash Bros.

Agreed. Nintendo could always bolster their racing game selection by finally bringing back F-Zero to go alongside Mario Kart. And after such an amazing job Retro did with the Metroid series, as well as Rare and Namco doing fine jobs with the Star Fox series, this news is promising if all goes well.

Funnily enough, Pokemon actually does something similar to that the Disney Infinite and Skylanders playsets in the form of Pokemon Battrio and Pokemon Tretta.

Yeah, I guess. But I wanted Smash Bros figures as a kid and they never came out.
