Default Do you consider Eric Bischoff a 1 hit wonder?

Reading this forum, there are mixed reaction towards Eric Bischoff's capability of helping TNA grow as a company. Some people like the idea of Bischoff possibly owning TNA if Dixie Carter sells it. While other people feel that he was the sole reason why WCW failed as a company and has nothing to contribute to TNA besides holding the spot of someone who could do his job better.

Looking at the track record of Eric Bischoff, do you see him as a man who's only real bragging rights is his idea of creating the NWO?

Or do you see him as someone who has accomplished a lot more than creating perhaps the greatest stable in professional wrestling?

He led the only company to defeat WWE.
Beside Eric was not charge of WCW when it went downhill, that was caused by the suits at AOL when they merged with Time Warner.

He did lead the only company to defeat but people will say that one of the main reasons why WCW began to go downhill was because the NWO angle was left by Bischoff for too long.

yes.

outside of the nwo, what did bischoff come up with that really helped wcw? maybe there is some stuff that i dont know, but as far as i know, the nwo was his big idea that catapulted wcw(and wrestling in general) but besides that, what?

and if he didnt have ted turners money to bring in all the wwf guys like savage, hall, nash, bret, would wcw have been able to get to the heights that it did? idk.

This is the guy that saw nothing in Steve Austin.
So yes. His big claim to fame will be his ruthless fight against Vince for ratings.
He pulled no punches. "That's gonna put some butts in the seats".
Just like that, Boom. Lights out Sleazy E.

He just has the nWo. He buried the cruiser-weight division after getting bored with it. He so far has never followed up on this success which did not last long.

Bischoff isn't a one hit wonder. People who say that didn't watch WCW.

Yes, he had the nWo but within the nWo you had a ton of good ideas. DDP/Savage, Hogan/Sting, Outsiders/Steiners then away from that you have him giving away results, the Cruiserweights being seen for the first time on United States television, Goldberg, Re-developing Hogan, Savage, Sting etc who WWF said were "too old"

Then there is what he did with Nitro and for the wrestling business entirely. Now with TNA he's been pretty much "the guy" in charge for a couple months and the shows have began to improve at least in my mind.

Giving away the result is stupid. Goldberg lost to Kevin Nash then sort of vanished from the main event.

He never built a future for the company and relied on past stars. After 1998 WCW went nowhere.
