According to Dave Meltzer in this week's subscriber only Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Sorensen claimed in a recently released shoot interview for Highspots.com that TNA refused to pay for any of his medical bills from the serious neck injury that briefly left him unable to move his legs.
Consequentially, Sorensen had to rely on his mother's medical insurance to cover the cost of his treatment, but eventually she had to file for personal bankruptcy as the expenses continued to mount up.
Has anyone seen the Highspots shoot and can confirm this? If true that was really low by TNA. I'm leaning toward believing it is because of the whole Daffney debacle.
Once again, TNA is not legally obligated to pay for Sorensen's health care. He should have been responsible enough to have his own health insurance. I have health insurance. Why doesn't Sorensen?
Who cares if they aren't obligated, it's called doing what's morally right. Quit being cheap fucks and take care of these wrestlers regardless of their position on the card. I know wrestling has carny roots, but fuck, no reason to act like a fucking carny.
Oh, cry me a river. He should have had his own health plan, like I do. Two little words for you: "Personal Responsibility."
He was insured. That's "Personally Responsible".
All right. Let me take this to an extreme. Lets say while on duty a cop gets shot, a firefighter gets burned, a soldier wounded, a paramedic injured in a crash, a coal miner gets injured in a mine collapse or any of a thousand other jobs and incidents. Do you think their employer has no moral, not legal, but moral obligation to help them out?
