I'm sure its been done before, but if OP is so sure the fan base wants the 6 sides back, put up a poll on here to see what just this forum gets. I'm going to vote for a 4 sided ring. 6 sides never needs to return, or if for only 1 special night a year if that.
An even better pole to put up will be who watches a wrestling promotion based on the ring shape, or, did anyone stop watching because they got rid of the six sided ring.
the thing is for some reason the TNA ring comes off as tacky with that size. WCW some how it looked good.Maybe its the shape of the posts. It seems way better then when it was in the impact zone though.
WCW had better production values, even when they hadn't got huge funds. WCW knew how to apply the 'less is more' mantra. TNA keeps trying to look like WWE using cheap fucking shit, like that hideous DIY ramp.
Wrestlers perform most of their moves in the center because that is where the softest bumps are.
Also a 24ft ring is completely ridiculous. 18ft is the standard, WWE uses 20ft and I believe ROH switches between 18 and 20.
I don't think you're paying attention closely enough. If you watch a UFC fight-- they have 32ft of space and work all over the mat. In UFC, they can roll around on the mat and slam guys in any direction without turning the action around because they have loads of room.
In TNA, the action is constantly turning around to move back to the center, both because the mat is harder at the edges and because they will throw a guy through or onto the steel cables. It's like wrestling in a small bedroom.

Another factor is now that TNA is on the road, the size of the 6 sided ring would also force the ringside area back and that then changes the seating. It's simply inconvenient to add that 6 sided ring.
If anything, they could add a bigger 4 sided ring.
I think the 24 foot ring would be a vast improvement, especially for cage matches!!
I think that road show silver and black cage is way better then that thick black cage they use. Apparently each side weighs a couple thousand. What a waste of money hauling that around. I think A it stands out more and B you can see inside the ring much better. When i see people use that black cage,They hit the side and realy look like it hurt. Cus its very thick and solid. Un like a normal cage that has a spring to it.
Six sides of steel is way more interesting than "four sides of steel." That was one of the company's biggest PPV draws of the year. If they are going to use the hexagon for any special event; it has to be Lockdown.
Using a 23/24ft wide ring would only increase the density of the crowds.
