I guess going on the road and selling out arenas like the one in Chicago isn't a sign of any kind of growth. Smh

The reason why TNAs ratings aren't as big as some people say it should be, is the same reason why WWEs ratings aren't as big as some people say it should be: professional wrestling is just not popular anymore in the US.
Pro wrestling isn't popular because both companies put out shit products hence the low ratings.

I hate this notion that it's somehow the fans fault that the popularity of wrestling has declined and that there's nothing that can be done about it. Fuck that, it's entirely the bookers fault. The bookers seem content with sitting around scratching their ass's and expecting a boom to happen of it's own accord. You have to go out there and get the fans back through innovation and an exciting product.

Re: tna should be proud

People slang on TNA for a ton of reasons. TNA is a 21st century wrestling company that started after WCW and ECW were dead. In these 11 years they did not take the time to create a new standard for pro wrestling but instead took the WWE template and decided THAT IS PRO WRESTLING and continued from there. When TNA had its chances to become adventurers and blaze their trail, however they made sure to only take a couple of steps off the trail before returning.TNA should be the new standard, but they model their entire business off of what worked in the late 90's and so because of that FANS HOLD THEM TO THAT STANDARD. If I open a restaurant and say I have the best burgers in North America, people who come in are going to expect THE BEST BURGERS IN NORTH AMERICA.

TNA refuses to look at the current landscape of pro wrestling and goes out of their way to mirror the WWE product as much as they can. This is the main reason people slang TNA.

Exactly and I coming from a TNA fan's POV. TNA should not be looking at WWE as an example to conduct itself. They should be looking at the concepts in other media at a template to make themselves unique instead of being a standard wrestling company.

Re: tna should be proud

How TNA survived this long with such a horrible product is amazing so yeah I guess they should be proud and their fans as well.

First you have the endless stable wars which never amount to anything and never put anyone over or make a new star.

Then you have TNA becoming WWE lite by abandoning the x divison and taking a standard 4 side ring. So much for being an alternative.

Finally you have TNA passing on amazing indy talent or not even attempting to get them and instead hires trash like Orlando Jordan, the wolfpack, the nasty boys, goldust, rellik, val venis, tommy dreamer and the rest of the ECW losers. I'm sure I missed a ton of sucky hacks that cost a lot and won't draw a dime.

.
they could've done it years ago had they not bothered with the MEM, Hogans friends and the angle Alliance

tna can make easy money by dropping belts laying off guys they have no plans for, cancelling house shows that don't exceed bigger indy crowds, switch to an exclusive Netflix style online downloads service, only hire comedy wrestlers, female wrestlers and managers and not even bothering to set up the ring and focus on cheap backstage/interview drama alone

and yet they don't have the common sense to even do that

CONSISTANTCY IS THE KEY WORD HERE

doesn't help that they're flooding management and creative with Vince's boys.

FOR THE LAST TIME, THE ORIGINAL TNA IN THE ASYLUM HAD A 4 SIDED RING.

Can't the whole "6 sides was so original" aka stolen from AAA thingy, just die once and for all?

This is all real evidence.
There is no evidence that things go bad, and there is no real evidence that things go great for them. It's all speculation from the fans.

$750.000 a taping? It was $500.000 a few years ago according to Dixie herself, and since then they cut down on a lot of production and released a lot of people, so it must be much lower by now. There is also no evidence that they couldn't afford it a few years ago, after all they had plenty of $ to hire all those expensive friends from Hogan, so they COULD have gone on the road, they just choose not to. There is also the possibility that maybe they cant go on the road, but maybe they just dont have a choice.
You see, all speculations. But in reality none of us knows what really goes on since we dont have access to their financial records.
