Cool Late 2009 was coolest period of TNA

Late 09 featured AJ Styles as World Champion, a fun Wolfe and Angle feud, entertaining Knockouts and Tag Team divisions, a main event heavily featuring Christopher Daniels and Samoa Joe, well-built low-card feuds (Raven/Abyss/Stevie Richards and Team 3D/Jesse Neal for example) and guys like D'Angelo Dinero getting a push. In fact the one time Russo was the sole booker for TNA without anybody in his ear resulted in a very watchable and entertaining product which actually looked like it had some future plans.

So, irrespective of the fact that Russo wrote it, what do you guys think about the product during those three months of October, November and December; before Hogan came and changed the philosophy of the company.

Note. - I am not talking about the pre-BFG period of TNA 2009. Discuss only the post-BFG period.

I think 2007 was a better year for TNA. Much better than WWE at the time.

Late 2009 was great with Desmond Wolfe seemingly on the road to being World Champion. AJ/Daniels/Joe finally feuding over the World title and just the general show felt great.

It's a shame Russo didn't get longer on his own before Hogan/Bishoff came in because that couple of months before they arrived was some of the best stuff I've seen from any promotion.

Yeah, me too. He was a hell of a performer. Amazingly talented. Its hard to think that TNA dropped him, after the new Hogan and Bischoff started calling shots in TNA. He, The Pope, Jay Lethal were three of the great talents TNA didnt capitalized after.
Miss them.

TNA was great back then, such a shame Hogan came and completely ruined it. TNA had so much potential going to 2010, but thanks to disastrous booking it turned out to be the worst year in the company's history.

Totally agree with this, Pope and Wolfe could have dominated the company. Jay Lethal I was never 100% sold on as a main eventer, really talented guy and always enjoyed his work but just never saw him as the guy to lead the company.
