Default How is Hernandez considered bad?

When I watch him in the ring I am amazed at how a guy that size can move the way he does, so I don't understand even by internet standards how Hernandez is a bad wrestler because he can clearly go in the ring, so he doesn wrestle like a Kurt Angle, Finlay, Chris Benoit or William Regal like but must EVERY wrestler wrestle technically? If everyone wrestled the technical style wouldn't it be boring? Why does the internet hate powerhouses so much I don't get that? So because Hernandez isn't technically sound like say Christopher Daniels he's bad? Hernandez's style is to lay guys out with power moves and he executes that nicely so that should label him as a good powerhouse considering that's his style of wrestling.

He doesn't have a defining character? Okay so does 75% of the roster and no one bags on them. Kenny King? What's his character? What is Samoa Joe's character exactly? Magnus? What's his? Velvet Sky? What's hers? Those guys are great in ring workers but what are there characters its okay for them to get free passes though?

I won't argue his mic skills because they are pretty non-existent but guys like Jeff Hardy, Chris Benoit, and Rey Mysterio were never exceptional on the mic and they get free passes for not having mic skills. It feels like mic skills are the basis in determining if a wrestler is considered good or bad but why no gray areas? Why can't Hernandez be considered decent? There are more attributes to wrestling than mic skills. Hernandez has a good look, and is a pretty decent powerhouse why not look at those areas and only focus on mic skills??

I honestly cannot sit down and watch a match with Hernandez without worrying if the opponent will get injured in the process. He is literally an unsafe "powerhouse". The points you have here though are some pretty weak justifications as to why he should be considered what the general consensus on here thinks of him.

And for the record, I don't hate "powerhouses".

I don't mind the guy personally but he doesn't seem too safe in the ring (see the powerbomb on Joey Ryan not so long ago for example)

TNA management haven't done him any favours recently either with the 'let's find Hernandez a tag partner of Mexican origin' shtick - much preferred Shawn in LAX.

Either way, I see him as a good hand; nothing more, nothing less. He must work on the safety aspect of his in-ring work though.

I think it's because he's known for injuring other wrestlers. That's a big no no for hardcore fans. I liked his supermex character and his brief singles push and match against Sting looked promising.

I think what really hurt his chances was just the overcrowded main event scene. Him and Matt Morgan we're both ready for big pushes and had no midcard titles to pursue and had no chance to go for the world title so they got paired up for a tag team. Then the injuries started happening and he was sidelined until they needed a tag partner for Chavo.

He jumps around the ring just throwing his shoulder and arms into guys. Absolutely any lift move with Hernandez is a potential injury. Complete disaster of a worker.

Which is still silly because Chavo is a good in ring worker and had some awesome matches during his WWE run. He was respected at one point, people even sympathized when he received horrible treatment in 2009 after being one of the prominent midcarders on SmackDown hanging in the ring with the Undertaker and coming off an ECW title reign. People just overexaggerating things with him in TNA, Chavo consistently puts on good matches I mean that Aries/Roode tag match was great nad all four guys had a hand in that.

So again the Hernandez hatred is too over the top. I'm not saying the entire wrestlign community has to like Hernandez but why bash the guy everytime he shows up? Its a 2 hour show he's allowed to have wrestling matches without always getting bashed every second that he shows up.

I don't think he's as bad as some make him out to be on here. He runs a wrestling school and Indy promotion here in San Antonio called River City Wrestling (RCW) and obviously has a good following in Texas. He's a cool guy and always takes time to talk to the fans and take pictures. Wish he would get more love on here.

His character doesnt come across in the ring because well, he has no character. He's just a big Mexican who once hated America, then loved it, then hated it again, and now seems to love it once more. Oh yeah, he can jump over the top rope onto someone, which makes him awesome.
