Re: Has Sting Upgraded his Legacy with TNA?

I dont think so, when he is all done I think most ppl will think of Sting as a Legend for his work in WCW. Hell im sure there are ppl who dont even know he's been wrestling for the last couple years. seeing Aries wrestle Sting last Impact made me wish that he was treated like a huge deal in TNA. Yes he is the icon but Sting is just as Legendary as Undertaker, wish he didnt feel like just some wrestler at times.

Definitely. You can easily tell from the way he walks and talks and from his charisma, he is The John Cena of TNA.

I don't know about that. Look at Terry Funk. He's remembered moreso for his ECW stuff than he his for his NWA stuff which is more important for the sake of his legacy.

Not saying Sting's legacy will end up like his, cuz Sting's a big part of the NWO angle and he's also a big part of Flair's career. But still....seeing what happened to Funk makes it hard for me to count out the possibility.

And Personally I think his TNA stuff head and shoulders above his stuff between 1998-2001.

lol. nothing Sting has done since the night before Starrcade 1997 has upgraded his legacy.

Thumbs up Re: Has Sting Upgraded his Legacy with TNA?

Of course it has.

Look, Sting made some good good good money in his years at WcW. He didn't piss it away like a lot of folks did. Say what you want about the consistent quality of Stings TNA matches over recent years but the fact is he can still go for a man his age. He doesn't HAVE to be there for financial reasons and I think that's a testament to his dedication to wrestling (not so much TNA)

Sting has good intentions for staying around as long as he has, it's not like he's a Flair case living off paycheck to paycheck. Just watch that Victory Road clip when he supposed to have a main event caliber match with Hardy and had to cut it short. You can tell he was genuinely upset because he didn't get to wrestle a quality match like expected. If he was pay check collector he would have just walked to the back satisfied.

He's helped get new talent over and helped establish another nationally syndicated wrestling company so more guys can work. He's done it while evolving his character successfully. He's done all of this with integrity and for the right reasons so yes I would say Sting has upgraded his legacy with TNA.

He'll retire soon.

Re: Has Sting Upgraded his Legacy with TNA?

Besides being one of the main reasons why TNA exist today, nothing.
By "hardcore" smark logic, the above equals negative legacy.

The reason why we don't get fresh ideas and promotions rising in American Pro Wrestling is because the majority of the community is happy with the same old shit and will reject any chance of change. There is a risk in doing new things, 9 times out of 10, it leads to 50+ pages of bitching and moaning. While business gets turned into a dictatorship and more and more out of touch. Support the indies, support New Pro Wrestling.
