Default TNA's Growth

In my opinion,it is amazing how quickly how TNA, a company that nobody thought would even survive a month, has been able to become a worldwide brand, and as someone who has been watching this company since the start of the Spike TV era, I am very proud to see this small time promotion grow to what it is today. What do you guys think?

People rarely think about this, but because WWE are the main 'competitor', TNA are quick to be compared by people, with little thought to the fact they're 10, almost 11 - only - years old.

Yeah, spot on. People are quick to forget that the company is very young, the success that they've had so far is great, but I have a feeling it is going to get much better in the coming year.

To be fair, there has been a big gap in the market since WCW and ECW went under during a boom period. Wrestling has always been a favourite for cable channels and the Carter family were willing to inject heavy cash into a new wrestling promotion. Nevertheless, it less than 11 years they have:
  • Went from weekly (cheap) PPVs to a weekly afternoon show. Went late night on a top 25 cable channels, then moved to prime time and then increased to two hours. Now they are live across the country.
  • Held tours in major European arenas.
  • Struck a toy deal with Jakks.
  • Home videos in major stores.
  • Released a popular video game.
  • Had under contract: Hulk Hogan, RVD, Mick Foley, Jeff Hardy, Kevin Nash, Sting and Ric Flair.
  • Given worldwide exposure to a group of pseudo home grown talent: AJ Styles, Bobby Roode, James Storm, Samoa Joe, Abyss, Daniels and Austin Aries.
  • Brought Television product to many countries.
  • "This is Awesome", X Division, Six Sided Ring etc.

It has at times felt very stagnant over the years in terms of growth, but they've been incredibly patient, and are well off because of it. In 2005/2006 I really thought they were going to boom, but 2007-2011 was basically a plateau no matter what they tried. They've got more brand recognition now, a better product with more experienced wrestlers (in better shape, also), and are going national in terms of touring with their TV show every week. They are slowly moving up, and not digressing. If they have a solid first 2 years of touring with Impact Wrestling, then the platform for the years that follow that will be set for them to rise even further.

Right yeah, and they've only been on Spike for about 7 1/2 years now. I don't get why they're expected to be some huge juggernaut when they're still an infant compared to WWE. And I don't get people that expect them to explode within 6 months/a year whatever. They could spend another decade+ building their brand intelligently and still not be on that level, these things aren't that easy.

Some wrestling fans are impatient creatures.

They have gotten better. They finally got out of the Impact Zone, god we've only waiting 7 years for that to happen. There main storyline actually has traction, so it's just a matter of not trying to fuck it up. Im not saying they should compete with WWE. They should still focus on just being TNA. However, their product still needs to stop being WWE lite. Business wise they are moving in the right direction.

Bwahahahahaha...

Growth? WHAT GROWTH?

PPV Buyrates stink. Ratings are in the shitter if they're not stagnant. Nobody outside of its fanbase even knows TNA exists. And without the Carters funnelling mountains of cash into the company, it really would've been dead in about 3 months. And nearly every little scheme they've done in the past 7+ years has done nothing good for the company except make it look like a big fucking joke.
