- Spear, Perfect Plex, Crossface, Spinebuster. More than enough...
No, roode is a heel. If people poped for his moves, something isn't working.

Should have kept the crossface, IMO, especially when he made Flair tap out to it at Lockdown 2011.

People HATED Triple H during parts of his career, but you could still hear the crowd get up when he hooked the arms for the pedigree.
And the argument was never "Does he have moves?" it was "Are those moves associated enough with Bobby Roode?"

Re: I feel like Bobby Roode is lacking something
The thing is TNA doesn't do a very good job in developing gimmicks. Unless the wrestlers are lucky enough to come up with their own catchphrases, entrance rotines, nicknames and finishers, TNA just isn't going to do that job for them.
We know it's the details that make all the difference. It's Bully saying "Do you know who i am" or bragging about his calves, it chants like "Joe's Gonna Kill", it's the Beer Money scream rotine, it's naming Austin Aries the greatest man that ever lived, it's Storm's finisher being named Last Call. Details but with so much importance. That's why new talents will always have a hard time getting the audience attention and that's why more established talents seem to be missing a few details.
I think this is a wake up call for TNA. They need to get someone working the gimmicks with their talents.

That said, I feel like he's lacking something: A distinctive move. Or hell, maybe a few. I know, I know. Wrestling isn't about the moves. Blah blah blah. But the moves you use go a big way in determining your character. I find it hard to get into his matches, because I never know what to look for. I mean, he's got the spinebuster and the fisherman's suplex but why should I care about them? Neither one feels like a big Bobby Roode move to me. By contrast, when I watch Hardy? I know when to watch for the Twist, or the Whisper in the wind. I don't think I'm the only one either. When Bobby hooks that leg for the Payoff, shouldn't there be a pop? There isn't. I don't think you ever hear the crowd respond.
I think he could work on this. Work on developing some distinctive stuff for me to watch for as a fan. Or hell, if he wants to keep using that stuff? Give us a reason why. Give us some vignettes on his love of old school wrestlers. Show us his inspiration. Train us as an audience what to look for.
Anyway, my two cents. Do you agree? Am I wrong on this? When he hits the Spinebuster, do you go "Oh, there's one of his signature moves" or do you just sorts shrug? Let's talk about it, wrestlingforum.

This is so ass backwards. Roode is a heel. Crowds aren't supposed to pop for heel finishers or moves. Hardy on the otherhand is a huge face who plays to the crowd. Why do you think everytime WWE builds up a top face, they give them a taunt before their finish? They don't do it for heels.
When Roode was a face with Storm in Beer Money, they had plenty of signature moves that they built up to generate crowd response. Why? Because Roode was A FACE.

Re: I feel like Bobby Roode is lacking something
How can anyone pop for a fisherman suplex when it has been downgraded over the years to "just another move" like the DDT and the spinebuster. Roode needs his own signature finisher. All of his "big" moves are "trademark" moves of other wrestlers.

I get he's a TNA guy and stuff so I'm not asking for miracles here but this is weird.
First off, roode style is technician and he's not a show off like aries or ziggler. The guy isn't supposed to get people excited when he does a move, it's the exact opposite. Watch destination x and how the crowd reacts in disgust for each heelish tactic and only then to mark out when the good guy kicks out at 2,99999.
If you are trying to say Roode lacks something because he didn't make his own finisher, then we're fucked since nobody in this era invents their own finishers.
