Only real advantage they have is probably a little better pay and perform in front of more people. Aside from that they aren't consistently booked on a 3-hour live show or PPV, and get treated like shit.

TNA at least gives these women stories, characters and freedom to work with. From interviews, the lockeroom also seems more united, while Divas lockerooms sound like some high school drama.

Its quite disgusting.
You take that Tessmacher statement back :aries Tessmacher= the GOAT of the KO's

The women aren't that talented and are just there to sell sex so it isn't hard to see where the attitude comes from.
Because of that kind of attitude we have more Velvet Skys and Tessmachers than we do Awesome Kongs or Sara del Reys. "They're just for show" is the attitude that will make sure it stays that way. I actually never see the female talent dating anyone; I get that info from forums like these. If it weren't for people saying it, I'd never know. What's more, I don't care. What I take issue with is the assumption that just the women are sluts. Sorry, but if you go by the criteria people judge the women by, switching up dudes, then by that same token CM Punk is a male slut, because he's dated a lot of female wrestlers. Apparently Cena is a slut too. I'm not the least bit a feminist, but there are male wrestlers right now whose faces and bodies are more paying their way than their ring skills. (*ahem* Rob Terry) I could say, "Maybe the guys are just there for me to look at" but I know that's not true; if they can't work, I don't care how hot they are, get out of the ring or off my tv. Attractiveness is no measure of worth, but that might just be my ovaries talking.

Tara and Gail Kim are apparently "not that good." Well, this is news to me. But I don't blame people for thinking like above. They work very hard to create that image, after all. Just disappointed that it's that cut and dried for some folks. Anyway, as you were.

Agreed (and they were hypocritical in that, I must say). There were some guys who didn't care about women's wrestling, especially since a lot of mainstream female wrestlers look/act like they could moonlight as porn stars, but when they put them in angles/matches where they showed their toughness, it meant something, thus the high ratings for their segments. The sexuality was a part of everything else, and not even the predominant part at that time. They had storylines and real feuds. I personally don't think that the women themselves have changed so much as how they're used. If given storylines/feuds, I think they would work with them well, but when they don't have those things it makes it easier for things to seem stale. I need a storyline/feud I can be invested in, otherwise it's literally just the same few people coming out and wrestling week after week. In a word: boring.

And yes, I agree; there are guys who find ODB hot. Her voice is grating and I personally don't find her to be impressive in the ring, but she has a complete character, not a shiny ring attire, skip out to the ring pointing at the crowd and smiling blandness. She's a brawler with a idgaf attitude that'll bust your balls or have a beer with you. Some guys actually like that. I'm not like that, but maybe for that reason I find it entertaining to watch.

Re: Women of TNA?

You have so e great points there. I still think Velvet Sky is better in ring then any wwe diva. You nailed it when you said the attractive appeal character and athletic ability hits all together with a plot.

May wits not that I dislike a lot of the girls it's that they aren't being focused on and used as much. There's plenty of talent back there to have a crazy good match.

THANK YOU EDGE!!! You will be missed heavily... thanks for helping us love the WWE

She may not be the GOAT, but Tess is leaps and bounds better than one Velvet Sky. Doesn't hurt that she has that ass either..

So true. People say the KO's weren't all looks. It's not that they weren't its that when it came down to it, they could go in the ring. So for people to say, "they have been turned into Divas" is an absolute joke. Divas don't 7 minute matches. Divas don't get to be a dominate factor in a TV show. Divas don't get to be looked at as a dominant member in a couple, ala Jesse and Tara. Would a Diva ever referee a match that involved a male in WWE? No, Taryn's done it numerous times. The females in TNA aren't look at as a hinderince, or a "Oh, yeah, we gotta give the girls a couple minutes", they are looked at as a part of the roster. The problem at the moment isn't the girls, or the fact that they have sexualized women, it's a lack of depth. They just need some good direction. Even when you dissect every little thing that has gone on in the last few months, while it can't hold a candle to Tara/Kong, Gail/Kong, Love/Wlde, it's still a lot better then what were seeing over in WWE.

I'll give you Rosa Mendes and maybe Kaitlyn that Velvet is better than in the ring but that's it.

Its a good thing the Diva's matches arent 7 minutes, the divas for the most part, are boring. Same with the Knockouts.

AJ and Ziggler are the same as Tara and Jessie, only not as big of a joke as those two.

You're bragging over TNA allowing a woman to referee and intergender tag team match and knocking WWE for not doing it? WWE had a woman as the IC Champion... Or are you just choosing to forget such a thing?

I think that's the real issue, and since there will always be people who think that female wrestlers are - or indeed, should be - just T&A (or not there at all, which = sausage fest), that ultimately can't be helped. But that doesn't mean that the management have to buy into that. I liked that you brought up Tara's dominance and Taryn as a referee; I hadn't thought of it like that before, but those are interesting factors to bring up. There's no reason why they couldn't flesh out the Knockouts division again; it's a case them them just deciding not to, which is a shame because they still do have some good wrestling characters amongst the Knockouts, including those who have toned down their characters or have lost one completely. In the latter case, I think of Mickie James. She showed us that she can have a character, a la her crazy, obsessive fan gimmick back over in the other promotion. And Madison Rayne, etc. I just hate that it seems like they've forgotten that there are people who actually do care about seeing real women's wrestling for more than one match, and who want to see what they can do on the mic as well. Especially because they freaking used to! Both Knockouts and Divas divisions are shadows of their former selves and that's apparently the way they want it.

And while I'm thinking about it, I'd like to see Karen Jarrett replace Brooke Hogan as head of the Knockouts and have her maneuvering them again, not just assigning matches while she has other stuff going on. Try not to give screen time to work the mic and that'd be stupid. I'd rather see her machinations than Bully/Brooke's stilted romance. I don't hate it, and I know why they're doing it, but one does not equal another.

I get a sense that they're still figuring out what they want to do, but since A&8s seem to be spinning their wheels, I would gladly replace some of their shenanigans with a Knockout feud, or even an X-Division one.

I would have to agree.
