lol this contrasts to how advertising is practiced in my country where companies openly badmouth a rival company in their Twitter accounts. It's mainly because we're very personal (not professional) in nature, and are very accustomed to word-of-mouth.
On TNA's part, they are smart too by presenting themselves in an underdog and family-oriented light, and frame WWE as the "other company".
