both are huge names but imo if Hogan can't draw tna ratings in the 2s (and hes one of the biggest draws of all-time) I don't think noone will unless they signed Rock which will never happen.

What do you all think?

i doubt it the earliest i see them getting 2.0 is next year, and the reason Hogan didn't draw ratings is because they were never on the road for TNA until now, and there advertising is pretty poor. I think 2013 will be a big year for them though.

No obviously not

Currently, if they signed Rock and Cena, the best they could get the next show would probably be 1.7.

Now, if they advertised their product weekly and built stars internally and kept the product going strong as it is, they would be able to hit 2.0s.

lmao. If TNA signed Rock and Cena, the ratings would go through the roof off pure spectacle alone. Their January 4th show with Hogan's debut was a strong 1.5 and it was in the Impact Zone. You honestly believe they they'd only draw a 1.7 if they got both Cena and Rock? The entire WWE locker room, McMahon, the entire industry would be watching it. Not to mention a few extra million people. You are delusional if you think otherwise.

Re: IF TNA Signed Both Batista & Goldberg Would Their Ratings Go Up To 2.0?

Barring Cena, Rock or Austin nobody would provide instant 2.0 ratings.

Anyway, that's just a short-term quick fix and they learnt that the hard way in 2011 with Hogan's entourage of friends... The aim should be to be able to create stars; Aries, Roode, Storm, Daniels all being around the title scene fairly recently where as Angle is helping put people over and Hogan is doing fantastically in his current role.

Ideally, OVW would bear stars for TNA moving on into the future, Magnus looking promising too. Once they build an immense development system that works then along with loyalty to the company ( la AJ Styles) then the foundations are set - in what I believe is the right, most efficient way - for a prosperous future.

But back to the topic, I don't believe Batista or Goldberg have the relevancy to do such things. Sure, the ratings would spike (pardon the pun) and hopefully some of those viewers will stick with us if impressed by the product. However, the two would not be worth their huge salaries in my opinion.

Favourite Five

1. AJ Styles.
2. Austin Aries.
3. Christopher Daniels.
4. Bobby Roode.
5. Bully Ray.

They signed Angle when he was a superstar and their ratings are still pretty low. Its not who you sign, its how you book them.

Re: IF TNA Signed Both Batista & Goldberg Would Their Ratings Go Up To 2.0?

No. Think about all of the superstars TNA signed in the past. Angle, Sting, Booker T, Steiner, Team 3d, Foley, Christian, Ric Flair, Nash, X-pac, Hall(twice) and Hardy(twice).

If TNA signed Batista or Goldberg, people would watch for a couple of weeks just because they haven't seen them in a long time. When the novelty of Batista and Goldberg wears off and people realize that they have nothing new to offer, they will stop watching.

Instead of hiring talent that would cost waaay more than what they are worth, TNA should focus on their current talent. They should also follow WWE example and hire some of the top talents in the indies.

So...

You make a thread and in your OP you say that the Rock is the only guy that could boost ratings. I chime in and say Cena and Rock would boost ratings. You then quote my post and make a response that negates your original theory. So what exactly is your position?
