I assumed these one night only things would kill the x division too since theres like 3(?) which are x division related and there for fun matches and cool spots/nostalgia. Besides any X division w/ rvd isn't one i want to see.
They know X-Division events are a solid cop out. They'll tape them with the random talent throughout to work one night and that's that. It'll possibly attract some viewers who want that but it's only a tease. Nothing that will lead to anything obviously. That's why I'm not even a fan of this concept. It makes these "events" so fleeting and pointless. Like taped house shows or something.

2 years in a row, they tried to push it with destination x and failed. But why should I or anyone let it fade? If in 2010 you told me roode was going to be world champ for almost a year I would laugh, hogan had better chances at that. It's possible but unlikely, that's why topics like these are made. Call it naivety, I'm fine with that... but not ignorance.
You're idea of a Japanese worker coming over, winning the championship, and taking it back to earn "prestige" kind of falls under the lines of expecting/thinking TNA would put mass emphasis on the X Division...

Can't even compare Roode here unless that makes me the only genius out there. I had faith in the man getting a push. I wasn't wrong. TNA could do some poor booking decisions, but they couldn't be idiots in not seeing that Roode was a top quality performer.

Letting it fade would prevent the same old & pointless conversations from coming up. "TNA could do this to help the X-Division" or "Get these guys to beef up the division" It's played out. Enough already.

I'll admit that I was wrong about Aries being a top draw for Slammiversary. He was not. I had the main events mixed up with Destination X.

The issue is still this. I'm sure 99% of you were here back in July clamoring for Aries to turn heel and that move killed his momentum. Now you're all like "I said he was better as face". No you didn't, you said that after the fact. . Not the same thing

The BFG was proof of Aries shortcomings as a heel. The timeframe of the BFG series might have had a little to do with it but main issue was that there was no chemistry between Aries/Hardy and there so little to work with when it came to Aries heel gimmick.

I don't get this, first aries was never a pure babyface and he's currently one of the most over guys in TNA when they go on the road.

Other then casual fans that love wwe and love jeff hardy for those reasons.Plus the emo im different fans. I would say Aries is the most over guy in the company right now.

Just my observation from Road reaction. Noone can judge popularity from the impact zone. I feel like James Storm tents to get huge moms in certain markets.

Nobody said he was a babyface and btw with the momentum he had in july he shouldn't be "one of the most over". He should be really popular and make a difference.

But he is lol aries got cheered over hardy at BFG after cutting a promo on how bad the town sucks. Doesn't really matter, Aries gets over either way by just being himself... face or heel.

The only thing TNA should have done differently was to give aries title reign a bit more time after he turned.

1. They didn't sell many tickets to BFG
2. Tv-ratings improved after they took the title off Aries
Most importantly when Aries won the belt he had a huge buzz going but in the end what difference did he make for TNA and Impact? None! Did they capitalize on Aries momentum? If you still think Aries heel turn was a huge success I don't know what to tell.
