WWE trying to block possible TNA taping venues

Mike Johnson (PWInsider) is reporting that WWE wants to sign exclusive deals with several arenas as a reaction to TNA announcing to go on the road. According to Johnson they are also going to do more houseshows on Thursdays to block possible areas for TNA to hold tapings in.

Makes me hate current WWE even more...

If true, this shouldn't be a surprise. Vince has always been a overly competitive bastard. The thing that ticks me off is that WWE would rather block TNA than improve their own product

Re: WWE trying to block possible TNA taping venues

Sounds like WWE. But mostly TNA does smaller arenas and WWE does big arenas. The only reason WWE would say book a smaller arena is just to dick with TNA. WWE could shadow TNA and book shows at the big arenas in the towns TNA is doing IMPACTS from.

So unless WWE is just trying to stick it to TNA, TNA is probably OK.

Wouldn't exclusive deals with arenas cost WWE quite a bit of money?

Re: WWE trying to block possible TNA taping venues

This should work in TNA's favour really. Will stop them running in venues that are way over their head. They shouldn't be competing with WWE for arenas because they are well below WWE's level in that game.

TNA should be running small venues and packing them to the rafters to build a super hot atmosphere to come across on TV. Remember ECW?

The last thing you want to do with TV tapings is tape in front of half empty arenas. Remember WCW?

Just what I was thinking. I wouldn't be surprised if it is true. They're not above using tactics of that nature.

Pity. If their product is superior and TNA is "bush league", then what have they to fear?

And about the arenas' sizes, even if you book a larger arena they can adjust the seating to fit a less than capacity crowd.

Doesn't surprise me at all but I'm not 100% sure if Mike Johnson is correct. How anyone can get this info is hard to tell until we see this actually happening. I know WWE more than likely has an exclusive deal with MSG.

Yep, doesnt really make much sense. Will just cost WWE a bunch of money. So I very much doubt this bit of "news".

And the US is a pretty big place so trying to "hold up arenas" doesnt make much sense either. Especially since they are booked like 6 months in advance.

"Oh no, the WWE has a house show on Thursday 5 months from now in Ohio. Whatever will we do. Were fucked now, back to the IZ!"

Re: WWE trying to block possible TNA taping venues

But i thought Impact Wrestling was not relevant to the wwe .Gotta love the denial yet constant stealing from the under dog.

Im telling you this is the start of something big. Impact wrestling is going to be the next big company. They are going to be so hot in a year.

The other guys have nothing exciting going other then trying to live off last gen.

The start of a boom period here we go.
