Re: TNA is nearly awesome

I freakin hope they don't screw this up again. They may face ups and downs but this time is their opportunity to finally shine.

Their first step is to win over northern fans which can be a challenge.

I've always called him Fergal Devitt for some reason, figured most people would've known just from the last name...

Devitt must be as expensive as any of the WWE top talents, if RVD decides to leave then save some money and try to get him.

The reason why we don't get fresh ideas and promotions rising in American Pro Wrestling is because the majority of the community is happy with the same old shit and will reject any chance of change. There is a risk in doing new things, 9 times out of 10, it leads to 50+ pages of bitching and moaning. While business gets turned into a dictatorship and more and more out of touch. Support the indies, support New Pro Wrestling.

Never referenced him in any of my posts in this thread.

Devitt in the past publicly shot down any possibility of ever going to TNA. It would be a poor fit personality wise.

I don't remember any instances of this in the past. If TNA did ever want to put money out there to get him, they probably could. He has a lot of friends on the roster and backstage. I'm surprised TNA hasn't tried to get him since they signed the TV deal in Japan.

Devitt's probably better off in NJPW than he is in TNA. Similar to Low Ki. I don't really see them leaving any time soon, particularly w/ what little time the X Division gets. From a personal standpoint i dont exactly want them too either since NJPW handles them well.

Eh, Devitt's done everything in NJPW now pretty much. Although it's probably in his best interest financially to stay there over TNA or WWE.

i think if they actually put 100% effort into signing indy talents and not through gut check they could of easily got the indy wrestlers wwe has at the moment. And heres why, TNA and wwe has different systems when signing their indy talents, wwe has a thing for indy guys where they don't make the roster without going through the developmental system for at least 2 years no matter how old or good you are already, in TNA when your signed your pretty much in the roster from day one just look at all the indy talent tna signed back in 2006-2009, just look at wwe guys now people like daniel bryan, wade barrett, sandow took a few years to hit the main roster and these guys pretty much didn't need to be in developmental, yet guys like kenny king, jay bradley, austin aries are already in the main roster without developmental training, if they had signed with wwe theres no doubt they would of been in NXT, this is why i think if tna tried harder with signing indy talents for example calling them and not having them try out for gutcheck they could easily get them over wwe, why do you think jay bradley signed with tna and not wwe, i think a big reason is because he wouldnt have to go through developmentals in tna and in wwe he would probably start with NXT first he was once in wwe for a developmental contract and didn't get shifted to the main roster aswell, and the guys already in his 30's.
Yes, I very much agree! This is something that has always irritated me because why do they need to be developed if they're already developed? Like Tough Enough and how some indy wrestlers end up on there. But I know it's because they need to be re-trained to match the WWE style (which is boring). They go into a factory and come out on an assembly line. Spot on with everything you said.

I mean, they were thugs doing thuggish things, and I think Aries/Roode saying that is actually clever tbh, because they're making fun of the way the characters are being portrayed; they're cool because they're Mexican and want to beat up the bad guys.
Oh, thanks for pointing that out in the vid because when I searched on YouTube I couldn't find anything but a fan vid that didn't actually show it (some dude jumped in front of the camera). It goes with the music perfectly. I'm still not down with the ethnics thing because I personally don't have the luxury of appreciating it as a non-"ethnic," but your perspective is interesting.

Re: TNA is nearly awesome

TNA needs to sign a few people who stand out: personally my choices would be MVP, Prince Devitt, Kenny Omega, Brian Cage, TMDK (Haste & Nicholls), Uha Nation to make an immediate contribution to the main roster and sign Adam Cole, Tony Nese to work OVE shows to develop a gimmick and personality.
