It would never happen in a million years, but if you got Steve Austin you could actually go on the road and sell tickets in markets TNA struggle in due to Austin's name value. Surely you can see the flaw in your logic there. If Austin was in TNA going on the road would be 50 times more easy.

Re: Former WWE writer rips TNAs big announcement

These topics are dropping every minute, TNA isn't WWE. Just because going on the road is "meaningless" for the "casual" fans it doesn't mean they as a company shouldn't announce/promote it during the show. Fuck, this is the biggest gamble since the weekly ppv and people are actually defending the idea of reducing advertisement. Sometimes, you guys...

The reason why we don't get fresh ideas and promotions rising in American Pro Wrestling is because the majority of the community is happy with the same old shit and will reject any chance of change. There is a risk in doing new things, 9 times out of 10, it leads to 50+ pages of bitching and moaning. While business gets turned into a dictatorship and more and more out of touch. Support the indies, support New Pro Wrestling.

Pissing myself at how retarded this guy is. I'm not convinced the Impact Wrestling secret tour 2013 would sell as well...

Try thinking.

Re: Former WWE writer rips TNAs big announcement

Is this guy for real? So what, TNA should have said nothing? For a company like TNA, this is a big deal, because it is still a small company compared to the WWE,it'll change everything for them, and most surely, expand their fanbase!

He isn't saying that at all. He's saying promote the event, dont promote it as if you are finally at the stage where the promotion doesn't suck enough to move out of a tiny studio. You have to tell people you are a big deal even if you are not.

Bauer said more about it on twitter.

good move but to announce it on TV is bush league. That’s embarrassing. A big announcement is you signed Brock. Casual fans will be like WTF? That looks so second rate to make a big deal out of. WWE didn’t do out in 1993 when they took RAW out of NYC cuz it comes across bad. TNA’s big announcements = pandering/desperation.

Hogan is a bigger name and a bigger draw than Austin. Look what he did for the company.

Hogan had very little millage left by that point. He was getting sued left and right and his public image took a massive hit during the John Graziano thing. Also you still had idiots like Vince Russo and Terry Taylor running around TNA when Hogan came in. As soon as Hogan agreed to work with Russo it made Hogan just another guy. Magic rings and all that bullshit.

There is still plenty of millage left in Austin. He hasn't been overexposed and people have good memories of him. There's a reason WWE has him locked under a lifetime deal. They would never left him join another promotion.

It was a bit tongue-in-cheek son. TNA are not the WWE however and this is a very big thing for them and everyone is aware of that, why would they act like it isn't a big deal to them?

Try thinking.
