yeah don't announce it, do a secret tour with empty arenas.

Yeah why announce it publicly... you wouldn't want anyone to actually show up (and pay) at any of those shows, would you?

I don't watch TNA anymore and never visit this section but the thread headline caught my attention and for once I'll actually defend TNA. Telling your fans that you're gonna be in town is a SMART thing to do.

This guy comes across as an idiot honestly, were they meant to not advertise or announce their tours and that they were going to be in different places?

I've stopped watching WWE, but when you watch it in the UK there's repeated adverts, literally every 5 or so minutes advertising the fact that WWE is coming over here for the 'revenge' tour or whatever else. Ridiculous, truly is.

I think this is complete bullshit. It's a business and in thosthis day and age everyrhings public.wrestling is probably the most social busibessbusiness ever.its impotant that the owner can connect to the public.I wouldn't have it done any other way.another stab at this company as they keep trucking.

I think he means if you are going to go on the road dont make a big deal about how you are finally moving out of Orlando. You can promote the shows and where to buy tickets, but a casual fan probably doesn't even know they have been in the Impact Zone for 8 years. When the WWF moved out of the Manhattan Center for Raw in 94 they just promoted dates and the arenas gradually looked bigger because ticket sales are generated through local promotion, not major announcements halfway through Impact.

He is absolutely correct when it comes to TNA's definition of a "major announcement". If Vince McMahon said "Monday night i will have a major announcement" you are thinking "Austin's back!" or "Undertaker will come out and tombstone him". If you are fan who doesn't follow TNA tuning in for the first time or even a fan who doesn't go on the internet the announcement of TNA moving out of a studio would be like "errr ... so?" Moving out of Universal is a longterm business decision. It doesn't affect our viewing habits.

"To announce it on a TV show... I think it just speaks to how in the bubble they are, and how they are desperate to look like they're something. They way they're doing it makes them look so super bush league. To shine the spotlight on the fact that they don't do s--t [and] that they've been in the same place for a million years. To the average fan, they're going to shrug like, 'Who gives a damn? Great, you're going to be in Alabama next week, who cares?' To them [the average fan], a big announcement is that you signed Steve Austin, you signed the Rock, or you're bringing in this, or you're bringing in WarGames... it's preposterous, it makes them look like the fools they are."

What a complete idiot.

Yes, this is not that huge of a deal; a huge deal would be to be changing to 8-10 on Friday, for Smackdown rating wars, or beating Raw in ratings, or whatever, or taping every show live, but this is still a giant deal. This is much better than signing Steve Austin would be, for example. This lets TNA go around the world showing off their product, improve the product by getting out of the Impact Zone, and grow; it also shows that they are well-off enough financially to take a risk like this. If that doesn't say wonders, I don't know what does.
