I gave TNA a chance yesterday and I loved it

I wish I started watching earlier, but now is better than never. I've been bored to death from WWE for awhile now and Rock taking the title off of Punk with Cena winning the Rumble was the final draw.

I was entertained from start to finish with TNA last night. Even the matches were more entertaining. Aces of Eights storyline was great and I can't wait to see where it goes. It is a nice alternative to WWE and I didn't have to deal with kiddy shit the whole night. Looks like I picked a perfect time to become a fan since they are taking Impact on the road every week starting in March. Getting their product on the road will get them a much larger audience instead of just doing TV tapings in one location.

I have a feeling a lot more wwe fans are poking around to see impact fans checking up on the wwe.so i with this professional fwelfeel of impact permantly being on the road. Youl see viewership grow i think. I believe this is the best roster they have evee had.this is the best time to make that step.

I had begun to realise how bad WWE was getting in 2008. Actually I hadn't been watching regularly for 4 years before that because I didn't have the network that carried WWE, and in 2008 I finally got it and I was appalled at how lame the show had gotten. In 2010, I shifted my fandom to TNA and haven't looked back since. I think WWE is a bit better now than in 2008, but they've also made Raw a 3 hour show and there's a whole lot of crap you need to got through to get to the parts you really want to see.

Anyway, speaking of TNA, yes you have picked a perfect time to start watching. The wrestlers are a lot more entertaining in their promos, especially guys like Daniels, Kazarian, Magnus, Aries, Roode, Bully etc. And as you pointed out, there's no kiddie shit that makes you cringe and hope that nobody catches you watching. I think that now it's going on the road, it'll get even better from here, because the wrestlers put out a better performance in front of bigger audiences, and audiences who CARE. I remember Bobby Roode wasn't doing too great on the mic when they first made him World Champion. He didn't seem too comfortable I guess. But on that Wembley show in front of a raucous crowd, I guess Roode decided he'll just go out there and have some fun, and I guess that was the turning point for Roode. He became so much better, and his promos became a whole lot more than just "I am the It Factor of professional wrestling" and "I am your World Heavyweight Champion". I loved that whole title reign, and I loved seeing Bobby Roode evolve as a performer. I do believe he is one of the best on the microphones today.

Welcome. Considering that they've had even better shows content/wrestling-wise than last night's (which was also good), that's good to hear. I turned to them exclusively some time back because I personally find more enjoyment in the content and the way the wrestlers perform both on the mic and on the mat. Still care about WWE to a point but I'm just waiting for things to turn around, if they will. I hope you continue to enjoy IW, and I hope that things get even better for them. :) I hope 2013 will be their best year, and then hopefully wrestling as a whole can also be elevated so that even more eyes will turn towards the product. People complain, but they've been doing a lot to try to do things right. Good luck to them.

---

Aces and 8s have stagnated, but I hope they can pull out some kind of genuine surprise in the future and/or either refresh or end the angle. It gives guys something to do and keeps them on tv, but they need to freshen things up if they're going to be around for longer, because I'm not getting any real sense of purpose from them at the mo'.

I've been watching TNA off and on for most of the 10 years... they've had some great years, but there has never been one show like this. Hell, even WWE only managed to have one match that felt like that whole show Thursday in a decade. There was just something special to this week and even long time TNA fans have gotten more stoked. I don't know if it was the crowd, the booking, the wrestlers, the lighting, or just something you can't describe... but it felt like WCW used to in the mid to late 90s. It just had this manic energy pulsing throughout the show that lifted every single segment.

Maybe it was the change to more road shows spurring everyone and everything, but that show felt huge and it came off as "we will bulldoze the world.. sit back and enjoy the ride".

It can be frustrating... but he isn't anywhere near the worst in history for a champion. TNA would be better served with someone else in the long run... not a knock on jeff, but he's old guard. TNA right now needs someone either newer to the main event scene or someone who hasn't had the runs in a few companies he's had. It's time to do what the WWE did in 98 and build those new stars that they can create a revolutionary product around. I think maybe TNA is doing that though... we have to deal with the short term superface booking, but I think it's endgame is to put over another star. Could be wrong... but it just feels like everything is building to that.

I've given it more than enough chances over the years, and have generally been left scratching my head wondering why I even bothered.

However, in small, baby steps, they are gradually turning a corner. Aces and 8's is finally getting interesting again, Daniels is glowing in his new role, and even the X division is getting a little bit of love. Fix up the tag division, restore credibility to the knockout's and remove the gimmicky nonsense from big matches and they'll go a long, long way to becoming enough of a disturbance to make inroads on WWE.

Fixing tag division - Aries / Roode heading that way, nothing left to say.
Restoring credibility to knockout's - frankly put, anyone talking about credibility on any woman's division with Diva signs in his sig, lacks exactly that.
They don't have to make inroads on the WWE. There's a big enough market for a second Wrestling company not only to survive, but to thrive.

Honestly, I will say this.

TNA has its ups and downs, much like WWE does. Sometimes they'll be red hot and other times they'll be as cold as ice.

Right now, I think TNA is the better show, though not by any kind of significant margin. That might change in a month or so, especially as we head into Wrestlemania, a time period where WWE typically tries to put their best foot forward.

If you're enjoying TNA at the moment, that's good on you. Hope you like it.

So many finishers so early in :lol

Angle hit an Angle Slam, what, like, 2 mins into the match? Then another off the top rope that KA kicked out of? :kurt

Long story short for me was a fan of the big 3 back in the day (EC DUB WCW & WWF/E) stopped watching Wrestling all together when the E went PG, in early 2012 a friend suggested that I watch iMPACT been hooked ever since :mark: I watch TNA on a regular basis new & old ep's included ROH occasionally but still have 0 interest in the E because of it being PG & the Cena show

I respect OP for making the switch :HHH2

I guess I could realistically call myself a near lifelong WWE/F follower and I've always been interested in the other wrestling going on out there too. Probably more interested, tbh (I'm lesser-known-over-here foreign stuff, indy-cool hipster like that ;) ), but for some time now I've gone a little cold on WWE's product. Not hating, not skipping completely (there's no rule saying there can be only one, and only that one you can watch), I'm just not all that curious about anything they're doing.

If anyone had asked me, Hey, are you a TNA fangirl? last week, I'd have been all, Nah, just liking them lately. But then I took a glance at my rep, and couldn't help noticing it was overloaded with TNA threads. I miss Raw, NXT, and whatever else WWE's pumping out these days without hesitation while at the same time get excited about Impact. Looks like I've officially joined the fan party.

Really though, TNA gives me what I want from a wrestling show. It's not perfect, it isn't the greatest wrestling company in the world, but most of the time it's fun to watch. It doesn't have the huge sets and usually lacks the impressively packed seats of a WWE show, but those things don't matter to me. If folks can get past the packaging and the hype, there's tons of wrestling greatness in smaller places, or mid-sized in TNA's case. A lot of their talent is hitting a career high, and while I do agree with those saying this isn't the best TNA roster, many of the people they do have are bringing it weekly.

When TNA is fun, it's really the definition of the word. Pretty easy to watch and everything has a nice flow on TV. The only parts that seem to halt Impact on Thursday was the dragged out Hogan promo. Pardon that the rest was all good. Sure, I didn't like the main event, but that's more on the workers involved not doing it for me. I was into the heel turn and moving things along for the big storyline in the company.

TNA is almost everything I could ask for from a wrestling show. Entertaining storylines, well written characters, great matches, etc. I didn't start watching TNA until mid 2012 because I heard that Russo had finally been fired from creative and they were bringing in Dave Lagana to take his place. After hearing that great news I decided to give it a chance and I'm glad that I did because from Slammiversary to now the show has been fantastic apart from a few mishaps along the way (Clair Lynch, Brooke Hogan). Good to hear that more people on here are giving it a chance because I really think this company is putting out a quality product for their fans.
