Still prefer weeklies opposed to now, but can't disagree TNA is definitely bigger then they were then.

Re: I gave TNA a chance yesterday and I loved it

I had begun to realise how bad WWE was getting in 2008. Actually I hadn't been watching regularly for 4 years before that because I didn't have the network that carried WWE, and in 2008 I finally got it and I was appalled at how lame the show had gotten. In 2010, I shifted my fandom to TNA and haven't looked back since. I think WWE is a bit better now than in 2008, but they've also made Raw a 3 hour show and there's a whole lot of crap you need to got through to get to the parts you really want to see.

Anyway, speaking of TNA, yes you have picked a perfect time to start watching. The wrestlers are a lot more entertaining in their promos, especially guys like Daniels, Kazarian, Magnus, Aries, Roode, Bully etc. And as you pointed out, there's no kiddie shit that makes you cringe and hope that nobody catches you watching. I think that now it's going on the road, it'll get even better from here, because the wrestlers put out a better performance in front of bigger audiences, and audiences who CARE. I remember Bobby Roode wasn't doing too great on the mic when they first made him World Champion. He didn't seem too comfortable I guess. But on that Wembley show in front of a raucous crowd, I guess Roode decided he'll just go out there and have some fun, and I guess that was the turning point for Roode. He became so much better, and his promos became a whole lot more than just "I am the It Factor of professional wrestling" and "I am your World Heavyweight Champion". I loved that whole title reign, and I loved seeing Bobby Roode evolve as a performer. I do believe he is one of the best on the microphones today.

I wouldn't say this is the best roster they've ever had but this is the best main event scene they've ever had.

I was entertained from start to finish with TNA last night. Even the matches were more entertaining. Aces of Eights storyline was great and I can't wait to see where it goes. It is a nice alternative to WWE and I didn't have to deal with kiddy shit the whole night. Looks like I picked a perfect time to become a fan since they are taking Impact on the road every week starting in March. Getting their product on the road will get them a much larger audience instead of just doing TV tapings in one location.
Welcome. Considering that they've had even better shows content/wrestling-wise than last night's (which was also good), that's good to hear. I turned to them exclusively some time back because I personally find more enjoyment in the content and the way the wrestlers perform both on the mic and on the mat. Still care about WWE to a point but I'm just waiting for things to turn around, if they will. I hope you continue to enjoy IW, and I hope that things get even better for them. I hope 2013 will be their best year, and then hopefully wrestling as a whole can also be elevated so that even more eyes will turn towards the product. People complain, but they've been doing a lot to try to do things right. Good luck to them.

---

Aces and 8s have stagnated, but I hope they can pull out some kind of genuine surprise in the future and/or either refresh or end the angle. It gives guys something to do and keeps them on tv, but they need to freshen things up if they're going to be around for longer, because I'm not getting any real sense of purpose from them at the mo'.

Re: I gave TNA a chance yesterday and I loved it

I've been watching TNA off and on for most of the 10 years... they've had some great years, but there has never been one show like this. Hell, even WWE only managed to have one match that felt like that whole show Thursday in a decade. There was just something special to this week and even long time TNA fans have gotten more stoked. I don't know if it was the crowd, the booking, the wrestlers, the lighting, or just something you can't describe... but it felt like WCW used to in the mid to late 90s. It just had this manic energy pulsing throughout the show that lifted every single segment.

Maybe it was the change to more road shows spurring everyone and everything, but that show felt huge and it came off as "we will bulldoze the world.. sit back and enjoy the ride".

Thanks for the wonderful memories Ultimate Warrior... happy you got to be recognised as the legend you are before you went. Rest in peace

I had the same story. Sick of the stupid WWE product, give a chance to TNA, love it and ... well, I'm stuck with the TNA and I hope you will love it during the rest of the year too^^

It can be frustrating... but he isn't anywhere near the worst in history for a champion. TNA would be better served with someone else in the long run... not a knock on jeff, but he's old guard. TNA right now needs someone either newer to the main event scene or someone who hasn't had the runs in a few companies he's had. It's time to do what the WWE did in 98 and build those new stars that they can create a revolutionary product around. I think maybe TNA is doing that though... we have to deal with the short term superface booking, but I think it's endgame is to put over another star. Could be wrong... but it just feels like everything is building to that.

I agree with everything you said and I hope the last thing you said is so. Jeff doesn't need it; he'd still be over with his fans without it. I think his kind of character doesn't even match with someone who would even aspire to be a champion because it seems like a strange goal. What does a character like his really need the title for anyway? To prove that he's the best? That's not what his character comes across to me as. For a pseudo-mystic (or w/e it is) character like his, a title seems a trivial thing. Just going out there and performing for his "creatures" should be his goal. It's kind of hard to explain. But anyway, I don't know why they changed from Aries, but both of the previous champions were steps in a new direction, a changing of the guard, if you will. We've seen Hardy as a champ of some sort for years now. I actually would have really liked to have seen Daniels as the champ, though I'm not exactly mad that he didn't get it (hopefully he will eventually).

Maybe they're cooking something up. I hope they do, and I hope it's awesome.
