Mr Anderson & The Pope

Do you think Mr. Anderson & D'Angelo Dinero were wasted talents in TNA? Both were decent in ring workers who at that point in time (010-early 011) had some of the best mic skills in the industry and felt they could've had a great rivalry and been top main-eventers in TNA, Unfortunately TNA made them irrelevant and started to saddle them in meaningless feuds where they would go from heel to face every month.

Re: Mr Anderson & The Pope-Wasted talents

Im telling you pope had a cool gimmick but he had no depth. Ken is on and off which is why he is well on and off tv. Sometimes he is acutely really good then sometimes hes just meh.

Lets hope something good comes out of his Aces storyline.I believe he is not acutely part of the group and is a insider. Then again he has been a heel so i dont know

Re: Mr Anderson & The Pope

Pope was always average in the ring and while he was good on the mic, I think he wasn't going anywhere past mid-carder. Anderson was given a WHC and pushed heavily but he sucked.

So no.

He sucked because they booked him in random face-heel changes and overused asshole.

Yeah Pope was average in the ring, but the guy wasn't Khali. And the guy was over as hell with the audience.

Re: Mr Anderson & The Pope

I think they're two of the most wasted talents in the past decade. Both had immense charisma and the ability to play to the crowd, something guys like Dolph Ziggler and Alberto Del Rio could only dream of having.

Pope looks like a lost cause seeing as how he's gone from TNA, but I have hope that Anderson's career will be rejuvenated with this Aces & 8's storyline.

Re: Mr Anderson & The Pope

No. Generic McGenericpants was a midcarder for life and was probably getting paid more than he was worth. Anderson can fuck right off, along with RVD.

Re: Mr Anderson & The Pope

Personally I love Anderson. If he was more interesting in the ring he would be amazing. On the mic he is just fantastic when he has something to work with. Face-heel-face turns within a few weeks fucked his character completely and made him pointless, at least if he is finally an all-out heel with A&8 he can finally start to recover from them.

That said, Abyss, Bully Ray, AJ, Angle, Sting - everyone - re-invents themselves one way or another if they become stale or are required too. Quite why Anderson hasn't come up with a new character or something for himself a don't know - maybe he is just like that in real life?

The Pope I never really got, but it should be remembered he has been injured a few times too. We may yet see him in the re-vamped x-division we have been promised in a few months, I'm hoping we will see a lot more from people like Pope and Sonjay Dutt... and PETEY WILLIAMS

Re: Mr Anderson & The Pope

Neither party was consistent enough in the ring to sustain a place in the main-event. Mid-card was probably the right level for both of them.

Mayorga on BJ: Real men fight- maricons roll on ground and wrestle. Boxeo is número UNO! Tell BJ to box me- after I KO him, I will put him not in a body bag but in a condom so he can think that’s where he shud have stayed

Mayorga on facing Vargas: I'm going to give Vargas the chance to cash his last paycheck. I would like to say publicly that Fatty Vargas has always feared me. I conceded to take this fight at 162 pounds because fatty couldn't lose any more weight. I will do Vargas a favor by retiring him in this fight so his family doesn't have to suffer every time he steps in the ring. I'm going to do his wife a favor and not let her cry anymore.

Re: Mr Anderson & The Pope

I really loved Pope, one of my old TNA favorites.

Loved Anderson too, his mic-work is great when he has something to work with. As said earlier in the thread, but other then that he is really stagnating right now.
