Default so what happens to rematch clauses now?

what struck me most about cutting down the ppv's to only 4 ppv's a year is that what is actually gonna happen once someone loses their title and wants a rematch, surely there not going to let two of the same wrestlers face each other again in consecutive ppv's, i mean having 2 people face each other in consecutive ppv's with 3 month builds each ppv wouldn't really work would it, even the fans would get bored of it. With wrestlers facing each other twice in 2 months is ok, but having 2 guys facing each other two times in a row out four ppv's in a space of 6 months build would get very stale wouldn't it?

so does this mean we will get a lot more rematch clauses through free tv on impact episodes?

post what you guys think of this.

I would assume that they would build up to the rematches on Impact Wrestling.

championship thursday could be scrapped i mean whats the use of having someone get a title shot each month, when it could just interfere with a fued, e.g just say if hardy and bully ray are feuding and the match is made straight away after a ppv, then what would be the use of having someone come in and get a title shot and interfere with the feud?, that wouldn't make that much sense.

Yeah they will probably have rematches on impact...and try to make them have a bigtime feel by hyping them up a lot...it actually works out great for us

I am totally fine with not having immediate rematches.

Too many rematches in quick succession can just over expose a feud. If the first match is good and worth waiting for, then the second match & the third match should be as well.

I keep going back to Orton & Christian in 2011 because that got comical after a while. I swear to God they must have had at least 8 or 9 World Title matches over the course of 4-5 months. It was pretty ridiculous. It was like that was all they had for Smackdown. And Christian lost so many in a row that I just sat there asking "How is he still the number one contender? I mean how many title shots does the number one contender get?". They eventually had to have Christian win one just for the sake of a change up.

Now were the Orton/Christian matches bad? No. In fact some of them were quite good. But it is really hard to give a crap when the series as a whole has been overexposed.

I have to agree that i dont even care if we dont have re matches. I like the idea that you get one shot and then they move onto the next star. This way they can build feuds for a long time and then whatever happens happens. Whats the point of bilding a feud to a title shot to lose then win in a rematch. I think rematch wins take away from that entire concept.

This means to get to acutely see a cycle of world champions. I hate it when you have like 2 guys int he scene and the belt goes back and forth for years. They are giving so many guys a chance to have the belt.

Im still ok with it happening sometimes and yes just on the tv show. They will have to build that up as well though.
