The company needs big names? They've had plenty.
DDP
Randy Savage
Kevin Nash
RVD
Kennedy/Anderson
Kurt Angle
Flair
Hogan
Sting
Dudleyz
Jeff Hardy shortly after he was arguably the most over guy in WWE

Flair, Hogan, Sting, Angle and Hardy isn't big enough for you?

This isn't directly related but does anyone know how wrestling contracts work in wwe & tna? Like for example can tna buy out ortons contract and pay compensation or do they have to wait until his wwe deal finishes?

FUCK RATINGS & "WHATS BEST FOR BUSINESS", I WANNA BE ENTERTAINED!

Re: As a TNA fan...it hurts me to say this

you can hire anyone you want to. just look at big names they've brought in already.

names don't mean shit if you don't know how to use them.

wrestlers don't just 'jump ship' ether. tna don't have the wcw checkbook. to get a guy like cena, they would have to buy out his contract completely. this is the same company that has wrestlers with second jobs, or living on food stamps. it's just not plausible.

If Hogan can't make a huge difference, then no current WWE wrestler will other than Cena or Rock (both won't happen). They should keep doing what they're doing. Making stars not taking stars

What if WCW won the Monday Night Wars?

Here's what I think would have happened: http://inthesquaredcircle.blogspot.c...ight-wars.html

Hardy was the 2nd top WWE babyface, it has nothing to do with big names.
This isn't the 90's anymore, just a few weeks ago RAW was getting 2.2's. TNA surprisingly hasn't drop much in viewership and the ppv buys are slowly improving.

The reason why we don't get fresh ideas and promotions rising in American Pro Wrestling is because the majority of the community is happy with the same old shit and will reject any chance of change. There is a risk in doing new things, 9 times out of 10, it leads to 50+ pages of bitching and moaning. While business gets turned into a dictatorship and more and more out of touch. Support the indies, support New Pro Wrestling.

Haven't you learned from TNA signing Angle, Christian, Sting, Hogan, Hardy, RVD, and Anderson over the years? These were some of WWE's biggest stars and yet they barely move ratings at all. It's doesn't matter who they sign, it's the brand name itself that need more wide spread recognition.

Yes brand name.Which is why they are going to make Impact wrestling the entire brand name. Why else would they not have mini signs everywhere of this slow transition. The end of the shows now say TNA production. Smart to keep TNA name just as the behind the scenes production company for the brand

Re: As a TNA fan...it hurts me to say this

TNA has no long term gain from signing WWE guys, and even little short term gain tbh. The current stars aren't that big outside of the WWE, they mostly draw within the WWE Universe but not beyond that. Cena is the only big time draw that would add to their ratings and the amount of burials he would do in TNA would be even worse than his Superman stuff in the WWE. TNAs best bet is to try to expand their brand name over the years and hope to keep getting bigger bit by bit, but they won't hit 2.0s or even 1.5s anytime soon.

And then they change the main title from the TNA title to the IWC championship. It'll be revered by marks and (more importantly) smarks everywhere!
