Re: TNA Launches The Gut Check Challenge,Voting Is Now Open

Basically they took all the names from the people that have attended their live event seminars, threw them up on the site and put them up for voting. Sami was a part of one in 2010 if I remember correctly. As of this moment, Sami is not under any sort of contract with the WWE. The rumours of the late January try-out camp are fake and Jay Briscoe debunked that rumour on twitter earlier today.

Obviously, the reasonable assumption (on TNA's behalf) is that if you've paid $250 to attend a Gut Check seminar within the past couple of years then you obviously want to be part of TNA so you're included in the polls, even if you didn't reply back to their e-mail to say you want to be part of this (as was the case with Luke Hawx, for example, and likely Sami Callihan as well).

Rashad Cameron has 102 votes and some Klinger guy about 1500? WTF? Why should Cameron even go through Gut Check? He was one of the better guys in the X-Division tournament last summer.

English is not my first language. Please take that into account before you start to attack my grammar. Thanks.

Klinger is German wrestler Bad Bones. Most of the wrestling sites here covered him participating in this format and begged for votes. So that's the simple answer why he has so many of them. Didn't vote for him though. He sucks.

Why don't they use their wrestling names anyway? This way it's much harder to vote (luckily the OP gave us all their wrestling names). Also, gotta love Sami Callihan not even mentioning it on Twitter, promoting it etc, he either doesn't know about it or he doesn't particularly give a shit. He's still easily winning the poll though

The thing is just because their names are up their doesn't mean anything so I don't know why the participants will be mad. If they get voted TNA will offer them a contract. It is still their decision to accept it or not.

So he has some sort of contract with them I suppose, but is he also working with TNA? I don't get it. But I really want him and I like him a lot.
dark match =/= contract. there might be something in the pipeline but nothing concrete id imagine.

not too fussed about sami either way. when he's good he's very good but ive only seen a handful of matches of his i liked (and one was with finlay who makes everyone GOAT)

I like the fans choosing and all but people like chase stevens, bobby fish and ciampa are hardly top talents. Goodtime would be a good addition. If they get Yuma in too then if be down for some rockNES

Re: TNA Launches The Gut Check Challenge,Voting Is Now Open

a few thoughts here.

TNA put up pretty much everyone who has been to their gutcheck seminars. Even the ones sign to WWE developmental deals already. I think leaving those people in were done just to show how big time their seminars can be and to encourage more bigger indy names to join.

Sami Calihan being on the list and his WWE tryouts-A WWE tryout is just that a WWE tryout. I think very few wrestlers who get offered a WWE Developmental Deal would turn it down for a TNA Deal but, Calihan is not signed as of yet so, if WWE doesn't offer (and they probably will now) then he has a shot.

As far as a personal note the females look great, but the big time looks of the guys is lacking. I expected to see at least one Roman Reigns/The Rock type on the list you know big, football player, with that superstar look and I didn't see one person who fit that mold.

They would just give that shot to the runner up, I don't know how that is embarrassing. TNA is giving them a opportunity to appear on prime time tv, either take it or leave it.

The reason why we don't get fresh ideas and promotions rising in American Pro Wrestling is because the majority of the community is happy with the same old shit and will reject any chance of change. There is a risk in doing new things, 9 times out of 10, it leads to 50+ pages of bitching and moaning. While business gets turned into a dictatorship and more and more out of touch. Support the indies, support New Pro Wrestling.
