Maybe if they promote the specials as hard as ppvs, which I can't see them doing or if they matter to TNA's storylines which I don't know if they will.

But these aren't tv specials, they're still ppvs; just taped. And wouldn't it be redundant to have a X-Division special in April and then one before or after Slammiversary?

i like 4 ppvs. depends how they build to it now. ill wait and see what they do w/ the specials too but it could be fun. tag & x focus is nice so long as its not all gimmicks

Genesis won't be, since it's Sunday. I'd imagine next year they'll all be on the road.

Maybe they change the X division stip in the future to if you make it through the year as champ, you can cash in at Genesis. That might be an interesting way to tweak it.

Clearly TNA has to address the DX stipulation. It can be done by simply using it on a PPV special.

But this is a dramatic change for TNA and for the wrestling industry if it proofs to be the right change. TNA has a lot of time to build their PPVs and to create something really special for those 4 events (not only in ring, but also in terms of marketing, special events, fan interaction, social networks, contests, etc etc).

Plus, with only 4 PPVs this means title changes can and will happen in Impact Wrestling tv shows. Viewers will know that big title changes and the most dramatic matches won't have to wait for the PPVs and can happen anytime.

Good news. Let's see how it all plays out.
