People moaning about the PPV's being taped because they won't watch them cus spoilers.
That isn't a problem with TNA, that's a problem with the people. I'm going to assume that the people who refuse to watch the PPV for this reason are the type of person who reads up film spoilers and then walks around acting like they saw the film. I mean who would watch something that's taped before release that would be so retarded.

I have zero issues with taping them but why not tape on a Wednesday night then do a live Impact on Thursday and the taped PPV can debut on PPV and On Demand beginning Friday ? Just don't understand the need to tape so far out ???

I actually like this idea. It's obvious the current format isn't working, so this could be the shakeup they need.

Well this is just my silly prediction. We only know that the first 2 are being taped this Saturday. I believe that is because they are renovating the impact zone to reveal when they get back from the Uk Tour. No events in the impact zone after the 18th until sometime after march 10th of lockdown.

Just a silly wild guess. With all these changes its time to bring a fresh stage set.

Then again i guess they could just tape these events after lockdown sometime in march. So really i dont know ha.

Well I dont mind it not having any build up or being storyline driven as these specials seems separate from impact.

But I will give it a chance.

The only ppv special Im not looking forward to is hardcore justice. Why an ECW reunion. Why TNA?

Re: TNA Wrestling Announces Major Changes To 2013 Pay-Per-View Strategy

The concept PPVs aren't a business risk at all, they will be relatively cheap to produce and the well reviewed shows will sell well as DVDs in the future even if the initial PPV numbers are awful. (which they will be) The transition however is dramatic, why TNA would switch to just 4 storyline driven PPVs in one swoop is beyond me, this could potentially cripple the Impact Wrestling weekly show if the viewers don't buy into the writing and only tune in around the PPVs to see if it's worth investing their time and money into.

I understand it not being live as impact is live a day before. But I personally wouldnt pay for a taped ppv.
I'll give you two reasons why people could pay to watch it inspite of it being taped:

1. They'll be guaranteed to get good-to-great wrestling matches involving some of the best Indy workers and ( and for some PPVs even some international talent) with no match ending in some non-finish due to an ongoing storyline on Impact. Just uninterrupted pure wrestling fun.

2. It's 15 frickin dollars.

I mean people buy DVDs of films they've already watched, why wouldn't they buy a PPV whose results they already know?

Numbers will go up undoubtedly. Hopefully this strategy works.
