Default Making in Impact

This has been a thought that has gone through my head several times over the last couple of weeks. Impact is making a lot of great strides with their product, but every week they keep coming up short. Ticket sales for Lockdown are not advancing very well yet, and it looks like it is increasing difficult for TNA to move to the next level.

TNA really has 3 major PPVs they build towards (Lockdown, Slammiversary, BFG). My suggestion would be for TNA to invest in more short term contracts with top names in the company and have a little more of a revolving flow of talent that can help build the company up. WWE is faced with the same situation which is why they keep bringing back former stars for a ratings boost. For TNA it's not as much about ratings as it is about building an image.

Let's take Lockdown right now for instance; let's say they brought Chris Jericho in for a run that would last from January to Lockdown. It would mean fresh matches (along with some dream matches) and would get fans tuning in. After Jericho is done at Lockdown either keep him on until Slammiversary (6 month contract) or let him go off to do something else, but in the meantime bring in another larger name (Dave Bautista) and do the same.

The concept would be to bring fan support in while also putting over the TNA roster. I believe TNA lacks the star power for their major PPVs, not just for in the ring, but also for notoriety purposes as well.

Thoughts.

Here's a problem with that idea... Jericho would never, EEEEEEEEEEEEEVER, go to TNA.

But the thing is as well, they Kurt Angle, HULk HOGAN, JEFF HARDY! Those are big enough names on their own to bring people in... yet they keep the same numbers. So bringing in anymore big names is a bad idea. They just need to promote their product more thats what they really should be doing.

Jericho mentioned that he considered them once, but he wanted to be on the biggest stage.

Jericho also said he'd never put his career in the hands of people that inept (he said that on twitter following the RVD debut).

I would mark for Y2J in TNA, but I just doubt it would ever happen. Batista there is no point to.

I Dont think TNA needs to bring in any more WWE Wrestlers. They need to stick to focusing on Creating their own

They don't need anymore big names. They have Hogan who should advertise for them.

Who would be suited to face Batista in TNA? Apart from Roode and Angle, every match-up wouldn't really fit.

I think being on Thursdays is an odd night, and being on an odd channel, sandwiched between two unwatched (mostly) programs, Impact just won't ever grow beyond what it is now. They have some very very talented guys and they have had more consistent booking for a while, but they still have some big misses (Aces and Eights, Claire Lynch, Chavo and Hernandez win TTT, etc.)

I don't know if a network change would help, or if its just the fact that its not promoted properly, but something needs to change there.
