Well it's not like either have been announced so it might not be either one of them this month. Having two guys go against each other could be solid and helpful to both if one's a solid veteran or dogshit terrible like with Silva/Shaw from the thanksgiving special where neither looks like they should get a contract.

Much prefer two unknowns wrestle for a contract to seeing a TNA wrestler squash some poor guy who then gets a yes anyway. As for a green guy wrestling a green guy, so far competition they've faced has been gunner and Garrett, zema ion whose only starting to get there, Doug Williams who totally outclassed his opponent (rightly so, guys so under rated) and al snow.

This is very interesting. Gut Check was always a good idea but not so well executed. For some reason, that i can't quite put my finger on, the segment always seemed to be missing something.
Putting two indy wrestlers fighting for a contract might just be the improvement Gut Check needed. Congrats to TNA for this!

But i'm afraid this means Jay Bradley vs Brian Cage...I'm crossing my fingers for this match to end like UFC's Forrest Griffin vs. Stephan Bonnar - both man get a contract!

Just give cage and bradley enough time for an epic fight!

The biggest problem, I think, is that the matches were all the same. 3-4 minutes, the veteran dominates, the contestant gets 30 seconds of token offense, veteran cuts him off and wins, contestant gets a contract anyway. The concept was good, but the execution was horrible.

I don't know what the problem is. This assures us that at least once a month, we'll get to see TWO up-and-coming young talents (or even forgotten veterans looking for another opportunity) being spotlighted. It's always nice to see fresh faces.
