TNA's lack of stars problem

Just reading that The Rock's appearance on Raw gainered it a huge rating the best since August and even more amazing this was against The National Championship Game with two historical franchises involved. TNA has never had a guy like The Rock, Stone Cold, The Undertaker,80s Hulk Hogan, Bruno Sammartino that face of your franchise level talent. I understand that those guys are hard to come by but TNA has to find that guy and build him.

Did anyone think this guy http://www.obsessedwithwrestling.com.../r/rock/72.jpg would be the biggest wrestling star of all-time.

Did anyone think this guy http://www.obsessedwithwrestling.com...eaustin/73.jpg would usher in a new era of wrestling

Did anyone think this guy http://www.obsessedwithwrestling.com...ertaker/18.jpg would have one of the most over gimmicks of all-time

I'd say no to all but they were brought in and with the right character flourished to become legends.

I'd at least like to see TNA trying to find that potential franchise star.

I think Magnus could be the next big thing. Really do, he has all the tools.

Mic skills- Check
Age- Check
Charisma- Check
Ring Work- Time to work on it
Marketable? - He'd make a big flagbearer for the UK
Look- Of a star

Push him TNA

How about we stop trying to live off last generation wrestling. Its actuely sad that the biggest company the wwe keeps using old power to gain revenue. How are we ever going to get through this down period and start the revolution of another Boom period of wrestling.

People ram TNA for using last gen stars. WWE does it all the time. This is not the solution. I think what Impact Wrestling is doing right now is the way to go. Bringing in so many new guys and building self made or Indy talent.

Roode
Aries
York
ect

This is what will grow a company into the future. The rock and others like that will now always be a temporarily fix.

Boom period is coming and i think personally Impact Wrestling has the better force.

Re: TNA's lack of star problem

If WWE has to take the rock out of retirement because they can't make the next big thing how the fuck is TNA going to with a smaller audience and less main stream presence?

Magnus isn't gonna give impact a 2.0, wishful thinking at best.

I don't see a boom period happening soon.

I didn't think he would be, and he isn't. He's tied for second biggest with Austin, but he got booed out of the arena when he fought Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania even though he was the face, and I'm betting the same thing would happen if Austin and Hogan were healthy enough to wrestle each other too.

I'm not saying TNA should go get The Rock or Austin and put them on impact (obviously if they could they would) but, I'm saying TNA nees to find that person who can be the face of thier franchise. In Golf you have Tiger Woods in Boxing it's Floyd Mayweather. I'm talking that one person who fans will tune in to see. I don't think TNA has that person or someone who might be that person currently on thier roster. Magnus would probably be the closest but, if rumours are true he might be on his way out soon.

Re: TNA's lack of star problem

Aries, Roode, Storm, Hardy. They already have stars. But if you expect them to be the kind of stars that would garner big ratings spikes, that's just not going to happen. This is TNA we're talking about. They have their own little fanbase of about 1.1 million and this fanbase watches the show regularly, but outside of this fanbase no one watches TNA. TNA don't attract a whole lot of sponsors and has little to no mainstream exposure. They've got (C-list) celebrities in the past and they couldn't do much to the ratings. Hell, they've got Hulk freakin' Hogan, ome of the biggest draws the business has ever seen and HE couldn't draw huge ratings for them. WWE is a marketing machine. They can promote the hell out of someone's return and it would draw big ratings. TNA is far from the machine that WWE is. If they can't be that machine, then might as well not even try. They're doing a great job of making new stars in Aries, Roode and Storm.

Re: TNA's lack of star problem

I hate to agree with Kevin Nash, but he's right. TNA need to make a run at a top name WWE talent. An ACTIVE ROSTER member, not some wash-up or rebound. With Sting, Angle, Hogan, RVD, Hardy (He wants to focus on Music now), etc. contracts running out over the next year, they should pool the money and make a run for CM Punk.

WWE has already pissed him off to the point that July of last year he almost quit. Now he got his title run, but in 5+ PPVs his championship matches were relegated to the midcard. Now, despite performing 365 days a year, they're about to give The Rock the title for putting in 2 days worth of work.

Watching Punk's WWE Documentary it makes you wonder why he's even still with the WWE. Everything he hated about the beginning of his WWE career is STILL happening despite being "on top" now.

Shoot reveal Punk as leader of Aces & Eights, give him full creative control over himself and the stable, MAKE WAVES in the industry. . . TNA could only benefit.

Punk hates TNA. There's absolutely no way he would show up in the Impact Zone.

Punk hated (hates?) WWE and that didn't stop him from re-signing with them. :p

I don't recall him hating it? I know, like Jericho, he's taken some potshots (Most recently referring to it as "The Indies"), but I haven't heard him completey trash it (Hell he congratulated them when they made A-Double the Champ).
