Your first memories of TNA

There's a thread like this for WWE, but since TNA has been around way less time, wondering what's some of the first memories people have of TNA(in terms of watching it). Like what was happening at the time and all that?

For me, during summer vacation, I used to stay up(back then,it was considered staying up lol) till like 1am and around 11 or 12, I sometimes watched Impact. What I remember from it, was the X-Division guys like Sonjay Dutt competing. It was actually interesting to watch. And I remember a Sting-Jarrett feud where Sting was trying to get Jarrett out of TNA?

lol, sorta funny to think back on those days of seeing some episodes of Impact around midnight, and also watching WWE Velocity late at night too. Back in the days when watching tv at 12am was cool.

The first episode of Impact was the very first one on FSN.

I still remember all the matches.

Team Canada Vs. Hector Garza, Sonjay Dutt, & The Amazing Red
Abyss Vs. Shark Boy
Kid Kash & Dallas (Lance Hoyt) Vs. America's Most Wanted for the NWA Tag Team Titles.
AJ Styles Vs. Elix Skipper Vs. Chris Sabin Vs. Michael Shane in a Four Way X Division Contenders Match

It was an exciting show. Right off the bat, I thought "Man Abyss is cool, I like the X Division, AJ Styles seems to live up to the hype, and America's Most Wanted is a pretty sweet tag team like every one said". The only thing that TNA didn't have clicking in these early days was the World Title scene as it was Jeff Jarrett Vs. The 3 Live Kru....eck, but everything else captured my attention pretty quickly.

Abyss vs AJ Styles on Eurosport, back in the old iMPACT Zone days when the motto was still Cross the Line

The beginnings man.. good ole days. I didn't order the PPVs but I kept up with results. Used to download the matches I was interested in. Guys like Jeff Jarrett. Malice. Ken Shamrock. SABU. Ron "The Truth" Killings. They were the big boys who built the foundation. AJ too of course. A few others as well.

The Asylum days.

I remember when they were on FSN too. They used to have time limit matches. That's when NWA-TNA really started getting bigger and noticed more.

More names that come to mind of the early TNA.. young Alex Shelley calling himself Baby Bear and shit. The Canadian Destroyer Petey Williams. Team Canada. 3 Live Kru. S.A.T. The Dupps!

TEAM PACMAN

Seeing it at a friends on TWC. Then in my house? I just remember vague things from the hour eps whenever it came on Bravo. Around 05/06. It was different and I liked the whole two entrances thing. It was just new and it was worth watching. The wrestling was different to what I was used to and at the time, it somewhat got me into watching indie stuff, something I had never done before.

Now...nvm lol

This. I thought Shark Boy was going to upset Abyss. :lol The main event was a blast, though, and I remember Garza was on a huge push until he was deported.

TNA's World Title scene didn't really take off until Monty Brown became a serious contender for the belt. I'd say that late 2004/early 2005 were the beginnings of the golden era for the company, though.

Of course the very beginning was my earliest memory. I loved the asylum days.I remember watching the weekly ppv and it was a 4 sided ring.Next week it was 6 and i thought it was so cool.I like the idea that they went back to 4 though.

Good times in the beginning of the impact zone.

Who can forget Elix skipper walking the top of the cage and doing a hurricanrana.

Following week they were calling him Sky Walker.

Many other moments

Channel flicking around 2008 or something. Saw Rhino discussing his personal problems with alcohol. Thought it looked so low budget.

True Story, the first Impact I ever watched was the one where the Main Event Mafia took over, and I thought Booker T and Kevin Nash were the permanent commentators.

Can't remember all from the show but I was bored and was flicking throw the channels and I ended up on bravo, I saw the dudleys come to the ring and I was freaking out because I had no idea where they had went, later on I saw Petey Williams hit the Canadian destroyer and I knew I needed to watch it again next week, started watching in 2004/2005 :)
