LOL how is hulk hogan responsible for this?
Punk and others have said pope is very clueless in the ring, one time he almost broke joe's arm in a stupid move. I hate seeing wrestlers not being utilized so this is a good move for both parties, ROH might take him.

Re: Pope Let's TNA Contract Run Out; Done With Company
Sucks, been a fan since he was on ECW as Elijah Burke. Was pissed when he got released cuz they basically had nothing for him. Hoped he would go to TNA and get used great but he wasnt for the most part. He was pretty over for a minute then they messed him up.

Well there's only so many you can have in a storyline so really and it's sad to say this but you have to cut what you don't use.
Could've been an asset to TNA I'll say that but it also came down to a number of factors. It's can't be one thing entirely as to why he never got bigger than he did.
That being said,I hope nothing but the best for him.

Tomko? Came back. Fell the fuck off.
No one gives a fuck about Aces & Eights. This company is just nothingness these days. I can't think of an example of anyone who got released/sat their contract out and got treated better after it. UNLESS you wanna count Aries, but Aries came from a totally different era of TNA. You could make the argument that he was never there.

Where else is he going to go? I doubt he'll be picked up by WWE. Fact is, I want to see Pope on my TV and TNA may be the only place for that to happen.

Only way I'd wanna see him in ROH is if they pair him with Roddy as a tag team and call them "Ebony & Ivory". One has charisma and mic skills but lacks in ring, the other can wrestle but lacks charisma and mic skills. They can use Michael Jackson's "Black or White" as their entrance music.

Valid, but I don't see his talents being used in any way tbh. I guess it's me not being too selfish, but I just feel that maybe he should do something else with his time, whether it be acting, broadway etc etc..just whatever. Wasted talent always sucks.

He is either going to hit the Indy scene or Japan. I don't think ROH will jump on him right away but if he can build some momentum in smaller scenes he might make it. I have seen little to no work of his so i can't make a good assessment of if i think he can make it or not, But i have seen some major issues with TNA and its booking since i started watching again. If i was him i wouldn't want to come back either. I would work the indys and try to make my way back to the E.

Confession:
I enjoyed Pope's feud with Samoa Joe greatly.

If it wasn't for that feud we would never have had "the ninja van". It's a crucial piece of TNA history.
