Default Re: Can we speak on how TNA...[Pope related]

I've heard from various sources that Pope rubs people the wrong way and doesn't have the best backstage demeanor.

Personally though, I never thought that should influence how things should go on TV. If the character is hot and entertaining, then run with it. The Pope was awesome in his early going and I envisioned bigger things for him.

Unfortunately, after he lost to AJ at Lockdown, he just meandered around in silly feuds and nothing storylines. It really was a waste. But lets also keep in mind that he did get hurt a lot. In the 3 years he was there, he had 3 major injuries or so. It was a major reasons Kennedy/Anderson didn't work out in the WWE. He got hurt all the fucking time.

he was never in the main event except maybe once.I think they tried to let him roll with it but he just couldn't do it. I liked him a lot for a short bit but then it just dropped.I think Pope has the same issue that Ken Anderson does. Most people lost interest really fast. Also i think pope thinks hes a lot bigger deal then he is.

I dont see that big It Factor. The Pope gimmick was pretty cool at the start though.

Just my 2 cents

Good for him. I'm not his biggest fan, but he definitely has talent.

Pope's gimmick might have been interisting for the first 5 minutes, but he had nowhere to go with it. I actually like Pope, good worker and good mic skills, but i understand he just doesn't have any chance of getting a spotlight in TNA roster on a near future. Wish the best for him.

Well this sucks, I feel he had soooo much potential, A young agile charismatic guy who never got his break in either WWE or TNA, Its a crying shame that TNA are investing so much time having the Jannetty of a tag team be the leader of their supposed "BIG" stable, yet people like Pope never got the shots they deserved.. *sigh*

He was awesome. Natural speaker, good look, ring ability. I lost interest too, but that's 187% because they never went anywhere of note with him, treated him like a jobber and for the most part just left him off television entirely for the majority his contract tbh.

Time for WWE to sign him so we get to see him feud with Punk, Best in the world vs Worst in the world

good, hes trash.

glad he hasnt been on TV in forever and him being officially out of the company is even better news, that way i know for sure he wont randomly be a surprise/mystery opponent or reveal ever.
