IMPACT WRESTLING kicks off 2013 with the big return of "The Icon" Sting - and he's vowing revenge on The Aces & Eights! Sting is now on a mission to eliminate the gang from TNA! Will the final battle begin on Thursday when the Man In Black makes his comeback? Tune in and find out!

Also on the huge broadcast, there will be a Steel Cage Match as Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe join forces to battle The Aces & Eights! There will be no escape and no surrender when the cage door slams shut on Joe, Angle and the Aces!

Is Thursday's IMPACT the beginning of the end of the Aces' reign of terror with Sting's return and the big Steel Cage Match? Don't miss this all-important IMPACT that kicks off the New Year!

The 2012 Wrestler of the Year will be revealed as well. Who will win between finalists James Storm, Bobby Roode, Austin Aries, Jeff Hardy, or Bully Ray?

Plus, after what happened last week, what will happen when Hulk Hogan is face-to-face with Bully Ray and Brooke Hogan? Is the family drama about to reach a boiling point?

Thursday's IMPACT will also feature all of your favorite stars, including Hernandez, James Storm, Matt Morgan, the lovely but lethal Knockouts in action, the high-flying X Division Superstars and many more, plus news on the January 13 "Genesis" Pay-Per-View event!
First show of the new year. Hopefully they kick it off right with a bang. They have quite a few things planned as you can see in the official preview. I'm looking forward to most of it. Sting's returned so many times in the last few years but I can't help but mark out when he appears because I've been a fan of his for so long. However, I am not all that intrigued in his feud with Aces & 8s although that beatdown DOC gave him with a hammer looked brutal. I am looking forward to build between Hardy/Aries/Roode to continue heading toward Genesis. And of course more DANIELS & KAZ!

Oh, Kurt please don't die doing some insane spot in the cage match!

Why is the word "SWERVE" all I can think about when I see the cage match on the card? Probably be something stupid like Anderson turns on Aces & Eights already but then Sting shows up and turns on TNA and joins Aces & Eights or some bullshit. Please surprise me TNA and DON'T GIVE ME ANY "SURPRISES". Have the cage match, bring Anderson and the rest of A&8 in at the end for a beatdown on Angle and Joe. Cue Sting return to make the save, hits some people with his bat, "main" A&8 guys like Devon and Anderson (now you see why I put "main" in quotation makes :lmao) escape unharmed leaving Sting with something to do in the next few weeks likely leading up to some PPV match.

The whole thing isn't ideal because Sting sucks, Devon sucks, Anderson sucks, the whole A&8 angle has been sucking bad for a couple of months now... but the alternative with SWERVE~! galore is even worse.

Come on TNA. Start 2013 off better than 2012 ended.

How the actual fuck am I supposed to get excited for this show when Tony's away on holiday?

Seriously though, I hope that there's an incident during the cage match that will drive the A&8's angle on towards a reasonable climax. I'm seriously struggling to care about it anymore, mainly due to the poor booking involved that has made the gang members look like absolute chumps. Also, let me be the millionth poster to write "unneccesary Angle moonsault off the cage incoming".

A tournament for the X-Division number one contender's spot could be exactly what that 'division' needs in order to revitalise it. Hopefully TNA gives most of the guys involved a decent amount of promo time in order to establish their characters, allowing them to build a connection with the impact zone audience. There's nothing worse than a forced tournament with a bunch of guys that nobody could give two flying fucks for. It's one thing establishing wrestlers through actual matches, but this could also be a chance for these guys to get their personalities over, assuming they have any. If TNA are just going to run a bunch of cold card style matches then they would be better of investing all of that time in just one or two guys and slowly rebuilding the X roster that way, in my opinion.

I hate to jump in the forum and take a sucker punch-but christ sake I have watched the past hour of TNA and what a total clusterfuck of shit.

Luke Gallows cut off mid terrible freak out by a commercial, a botchmania classic by two guys who should be much, much better due to experience alone and now a Hogan/Brooke promo.

Jesus.

This story has been going on since the middle of last year...and we have Luke Gallows....Devon....and now fuckin Mike Knox?! Isn't it bad enough they basically jobbers already that you have to prolong the unveiling of the lowest level people you can find?

Nothing of worth happened on this show at all. Typical Sting, came out to little fanfare and did what Sting does.

What a total waste.

TNA have lost a ton of steam since last Summer. It's like they looked at everything that was working and decided to completely change it. A&8s are a joke at this point. Bully is being wasted in this year's equivalent to Claire Lynch. Kaz and Daniels are making the most out of nothing, while Dos Stereotypicos run around ruining what was left of the tag division. The main-event scene has taken a dip since Hardy won the title, but Aries/Hardy/Roode is pretty interesting. I really enjoyed that feud last night.

Last night's episode was alright, but for the first show of the year, it lacked a lot of importance. Especially for a show that started with Hardy winning the WOTY award, saw Bully Ray get suspended, and ended with Sting returning and unmasking a member of the A&8s. They really butchered that final angle. It came across as nothing, with Sting nonchalantly walking into the ring, taking out the entire biker gang by himself, and then revealing that the third member was Mike Knox.... FROM THE WWE.

Don't get me wrong, I like Mike Knox, but at this point A&8s needed something a little more substantial. Right now, the almighty faction consists of Devon, Gallows and Knox. They've been destroyed by Hogan, and now Sting. They hardly ever win. They don't seem to have any direction. TNA might have an end plan, but it's quite clear that they don't have a plan for the middle. At this point, they're just another crappy faction. They're going to have to add members from the main roster now. Revealing D-Lo, Bischoff and/or Jarrett isn't going to save this group.

Kurt is going to swerve all of you by doing a dropkick from the roof of the building.
