Thoughts & Predictions

X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP
Rob Van Dam -c- Vs. Kenny King
- This one suffers from rushing someone into the contenders spot. It is a case that is all too typical in this day and age. Win one match and you get the title shot. It's that simple! However, I am glad that they've brought Kenny King back and hopefully he shows off well enough to get featured more often. I'll go with Rob Van Dam to retain.

TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Chavo Guerrero & Hernandez -c- Vs. Joey Ryan & Matt Morgan
- Yet another case of rushing a contender, probably due to the fact that the tag team division doesn't have a whole lot of depth at the moment. I like how TNA handled Joey Ryan's introduction and quest to get a contract with TNA. Since then though he has been rushed into two straight title matches with little build where as if it were up to me, he would probably still be on the path to facing RVD for the title next month. Oh well, this is our tag title match and hopefully it is good. I wouldn't be shocked if Ryan & Morgan actually won the titles and that is who I'll go with. It just seems like the more interesting option and they've put way more into Ryan & Morgan as characters than they have Chavo & Hernandez (BTW, isn't it strange that Morgan & Hernandez is happening AGAIN?!?!).

KNOCKOUT CHAMPIONSHIP
Tara -c- Vs. Mickie James
- We've seen this match a dozen times, but it is nice to see Mickie back on TV and on PPV. And the matches these two had together in 2010 were some of the best womens matches TNA has ever produced (not up to the level of Kong/Gail, but still pretty solid). I don't see Tara losing the title here as they seem to want to push her as the top girl for now, so I'll pick her to win it.

EIGHT MAN TAG TEAM MATCH
Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, Wes Brisco, & Garrett Bischoff Vs. The Aces & Eights
- I think we can count on Devon & DOC being two of the four members. After that, it is anybody's guess. Anyways, I don't see The Aces & Eights getting beat here as they seem to want to keep building their heat. It'll be interesting to see how they do it though. I think most of us are expecting Brisco & Bischoff to ultimately be revealed as members of the group. I wouldn't be surprised if they did that here, maybe even do a bit where Wes & Garrett get "taken out" in some unseen attack, forcing Joe & Angle to go at it 4 on 2 and then Wes & Garrett help out As&Es and are unmasked after the match. I'm just throwing ideas out there.

GRUDGE MATCH
Austin Aries Vs. Bully Ray
- The storyline is stupid. Immensely stupid. I could not possibly care any less if Brooke Hogan & Bully Ray are having an affair. It makes no difference to the show or to me and it just feels like yet another weak attempt to create soap opera drama, which they failed miserably at with the Claire Lynch angle just a few months ago. All of that said, it feels like they are going to build up Aries as a top heel rather than what we had gotten at Bound for Glory & Turning Point which felt like more of a rush job. The Lockdown Main Event is most likely going to be Aries/Hardy III and they are probably going to start him off on that run right here, so count on an Aries victory. I expect a very good match though as the bout they had at Sacrifice earlier this year was damn good.

ONE LAST TIME
AJ Styles Vs. Christopher Daniels
- They are calling it "One Last Time" and I pray to God they are telling the truth. I can't take this match anymore. Yes they have good matches. Yes they work well together. But for heaven's sake, we have seen this match more times that I feel I can only describe it in hyperbolic terminology. For me, the best way to go here would be to have Christopher Daniels finally get a significant PPV victory over AJ, and then continue the AJ Styles storyline where he feels like he's lost his touch in whatever direction they want to go in.

TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Jeff Hardy -c- Vs. Bobby Roode
- Well Hardy ain't losing the belt. This is just a throwaway title match that they slapped on because they feel like they have to have a World Title match and Roode is their best heel, so bing bang boom, there you go. Hardy will win in what I am sure will be a good match between these two (I thought they had a very good match at Genesis earlier this year minus the DQ finish).

So yeah, this card isn't bad, but it is very rematch heavy and doesn't have a whole lot of intrigue surrounding it. It feels very "paint by numbers" formula stuff which is kind of a disappointing way to close out the PPV year for the company.

I thought Styles/Daniels could have been a cage match for the ONE FINAL TIME encounter. That gimmick would have given a sense of finality to a feud that has ran so long. Although I can see how one more wrestling match to prove the better man ONE FINAL TIME does that as well.

Completely agreed. Fuck the grappling, we've seen them doing math so many times already, just lock them inside the cage, and let them devastate each other silly. Hopefully they pull something off, though.

It really is like Hogan & Savage at this point as I can only recall Daniels beating AJ in the Impact match last year that sparked Daniels' heel turn. Other than that, I am pretty sure AJ has won them all. Once you throw mutliman matches and tag matches into play, that gives Daniels a couple more wins, but also gives a ton to AJ.

I am ordering this PPV as well!

I've loved their products, I'm bored and just dont wanna wait til tomorrow to see it and get everything spoil'd over on facebook, eh!

Last time I ordered, was Hardcore Justice 2011 (That was really bad) and never paid again for their PPV, but hell, since february, TNA is awesome and on a roll, so, let's encourage the good quality product they deliver lately!

Solid show overall. I really enjoyed that main event. Hardy sold very well throughout that match and again put his body on the line with that spot on the guardrail. The spear near-fall was tight. I'm good with the finish. I'm not going to complain about Aces & 8s. There probably won't be any real major implications for that angle for the rest of the month.

Main event, Bully/Aries and Daniels/AJ were all good to great. I knew going in that this show would be more wrasslin heavy than storyline and besides the AJ/Daniels match ending that's pretty much what it was.

I am beyond thankful that choosing to watch this for free worked out a wonder again. Absolutely abysmal show other than the Daniels/Styles match.

You'd suggest 2013 may get better, but well, it's been like this for 8 years. Awful.

2/10, and 1.5 of that goes to Daniels/Styles.

I'd give this ppv a 8/10. Great job for a filler and nice way to set up 2013. Hoping AJ takes a break and Daniels moves into a match with Hardy now.

Kaz vs Storm *1/2
King vs RVD ***
Ryan/Morgan vs Chavo/Hernandez **
Bully vs Aries ***3/4
Tara vs Mickie **1/2
Angle/Joe/Bischoff/Brisco vs Aces and Eights **
Daniels vs Styles ****
Hardy vs Roode ***1/2

Final Destination 2012 thoughts

Storm vs Kaz: This match was unnecessary and didn't need to be on the card. Was an impact quality match which could have been seen for free. *1/2

RVD vs King: Horrible match, very sloppy especially from RVD. RVD is one of my favourite wrestlers of all time but he is clearly coasting and is there for the pay check. Unmotivated. This is probably the worst ive ever seen him and is a shell of his former show stealing self. Sad to watch. *3/4

Hernadez and Chavo vs Ryan and Morgan:Mediocre tag team match. Again, was impact quality. Nothing much to say really, boring to watch. **

Bully vs Aries: Very good match. Great chemistry between these two and was telling a great story throughout the match. The finish however was bad with the Brooke Hogan soap opera crap (aka get that bitch off my tv screen) and Hogan knows best tripe. Execution of it was bad as well and looked weak with Aries rolling up Bully the way he did. Very good match, bad finish. *** 1/2

Mickie James vs Tara: An okay knockouts match. They've done better matches together. Didn't like the finish, fell flat for me. **1/4

Aces and Eights vs Team Angle:Pretty good match for what it was. Smart move to let Angle and Joe do the heavy lifting to mask the greenness of Garrett and Brisco. From a booking perspective however this was nonsensical. So much for making Aces and Eights a credible threat by having them get beat right off the bat and derailing their momentum. Don't get that booking decision at all. **3/4

AJ Styles vs Christopher Daniels: Typically great match from both these men. All of their matches together have been great (well except that dreadful I Quit Match) so its no surprise. Doesn't top their last man standing match from these guys this year though. Loved the finish with Daniels beating AJ with his own finishing move. Rub's more salt in the wound of AJ Styles. I really like this storyline they are going with for AJ who has been doing a great job with it as well. I'm very intrigued by AJ Styles character right now and where its going. Best part about TNA at the moment. Great match. ****

Hardy vs Roode: Very good main event that delivered. This could have been even better but it got cut short when it was just about to hit that next level. I have a problem with the finish of the match but its not Hardy using the twist of fate to win. Unlike some I have no problem with it as its Hardy's 2nd finisher and it caught Roode by a surprise. What I have a problem with is is what went down with Aces and Eights at the end. Not only was it really predictable that they would turn on Roode they pretty much repeated what they did with Roode a few months back when Roode accused Storm being a part of the aces and eights. It was the exact same twist with the exact same person. So essentially, this storyline in some ways is not progressing at all. That along with Aces and Eights losing their match at the PPV, its becoming hard to take them seriously as a threat. Match was very good. *** 1/2

Overall, decent but disappointing PPV. Expected more. 6.75/10

Genuinely had no idea that this was this weekend. Probably b/c I only got round to watching Turning Point last week.

I guess Aries/Bully, Joe/Devon (match on impact this week will probably have a screwy finish), some random RVD X Division match and probably something else I'm forgetting will be added. Aries/Bully is the only thing I've got an interest in here really assuming it's added. Everything else screams filler. Oh well

ONE FINAL TIME
Christopher Daniels vs. AJ Styles
Why don't I believe this tagline.

So far the card doesn't get me hot.

Hardy vs Roode is the only interesting pairing and is a good match up despite the very mild build-up so far.

AJ vs Daniels means high match quality, but I've seen this pairing far too often. It's more of a wrestling eye candy.

The other 2 I'm completely indifferent about. The tag team match is the worst. The only guy who doesn't usually get me to turn off/switch forward is Joey Ryan. Even he could use some improvement, instead he is terribly paired with Matt Morgan... Please, someone shows me where Matt hides his "charisma"! After all those years I still search for the reason why people desperately want him to get over.

To save the card TNA should involve A&8's strongly and add some creative under card match ups.

Why don't I believe this tagline.
Because you heard that before.

In reality they probably won't be fighting each other in TNA for 18 months. Tag team and multi men matches will not be included.

I can only hope that's true. Daniels deserves some fresh feuds that isn't with terrible people like Chavo and Hernandez.

The before the bell thing for those two is okay, although mostly they are. Found it amusing that AJ basically said he's sick of fighting Daniels in the first few minutes since he sums up my thoughts on it pretty well. Someone should go back and see how many matches AJ has won between the two. Would be super nice if Daniels can get the win in this to use as a springboard to more greatness. Might be the best chance he has with AJ's character on a downward slump. I'd definitely agree with whoever said this could do with a gimmick though. Their LMS at DX was fun because it was different, if you'd put these two in a steel cage i'd maybe care about it. Hopefully they'll prove me wrong but like AJ even said in that before the bell, if you've seen one of their matches you've kinda seen them all.
