X division could do with a revamp
is it me but the once great x division has not shined as brightly as it use to as of late. I know they have a stipulation in place that the x champion can be the no 1 contender to the tna world title , but to me that should mean that division needs to be thriving again for that to be an effective angle for destination x. Since aries has left the division it felt like this would be the case but lately the division has been lacking in a serious promotional push, zema ion was champion but barely appeared on tv and rob van dam is a name , but for some reason it is not gelling with me.
There is a lot of talent out there and within the company that could really aid and help revamp the division , perhaps going for people such as el generico , Prince devitt, Matt cross and talent from cmll triple A and even bringing in kenta from japan could really give this division the boost it needs |

They need more X division on TV again. Bring back the World X Cup damnit. Do SOMETHING

Re: X division could do with a revamp
It's a disgrace. The brain-damaged booking and downright treating the title as a stepping stone took all life out of the division. Last Impact was the final nail in the coffin with Aries' whole "I only wanted this shot to get at the World title, hehe, gotcha" crap.
New talent and motivated writers is all that's needed, really. Right now they just don't give a fuck. |
Re: X division could do with a revamp
I give huge props to Eric Bischoff for realizing that Brian Kendrick was just 100% crap and instead pushing the once in a lifetime talent Austin Arie.
BUT He also deserves all the crap for what the X-division has become since Aries left it. RVD? Nobody in the world wants to see RVD wrestle anymore. He is fat, he is old, his wacky moveset it outdated at this point. Bury him already Bischoff!!! |
Re: X division could do with a revamp
Devitt, Kenta and or AAA talent is going to be more expensive to fly in as opposed to homegrown US talent. TNA doesn't exactly give off the vibe that they want to be spending all that much for the X-Division. Thus picking from the the loads of good talent within the US that could be brought in and established if Prichard allows Lagana and Conway to establish them through good character build and storytelling by alloting more TV time to the X-Division is a smarter way to go.
El Generico, Chuck Taylor, AR Fox, ACH, Rich Swann, Ricochet, Scorpio Sky, Jigsaw, Tony Nese, Samuray Del Sol and Johnny Goodtime are just some of the better available talent here in the US they could attempt to sign. Some of those guys possess pretty good mic skills and or have good charisma as well, which is important as the division shouldn't be just about what they can do inside a ring. |
Re: X division could do with a revamp
They need more guys, sure, but more importantly re-emphasizing feuds and meaningful storylines in the X-Division.
Here, I'll come up with one in 30 seconds. York/Zema. York comes out and says it feels so great being in TNA after working so hard these past 16 years to get there. Zema comes out and said it came naturally to him, he's a kid still in college and already won the X-Division title. York wants to prove him wrong. "Rookie" veteran against the flashy young hotshot. You can't tell me that guys like Ion/York/Dutt/Kash/etc. can't be put into interesting storylines. |

Which is exactly why the writers (Lagana and Conway) shouldn't be shat on either. They could pitch ideas until they are blue in the face, but unless Prichard chooses to roll with an idea they pitch or asks them to come up with ideas and decides to allot time and resources to developing the characters and creating interesting storylines within the division, then their hands are tied. Re: X division could do with a revamp
If anything, they have enough solid assets to run the X-Division anyways... Douglas Williams, Kid Kash, Kenny King, Zema Ion, Sonjay Dutt and Chris Sabin once he returns are more than enough to run the division. If they decide to move Sabin up, maybe bring back Petey Williams and possibly Rubix/Jigsaw.

Re: X division could do with a revamp
The key is in international talent (AAA/NOAH) I don't see it as a booking problem.
There isn't enough talent to hold the division. |
Re: X division could do with a revamp
they need to rebuild x-division otherwise i see no point in the destination x world title stipulation.
