Re: X division could do with a revamp
^Not gonna happen, sorenson was supposed to have revenge by beating ion for the belt, now that's out of the window with RVD's victory. The best choice in my opinion, is having York beat RVD at Lockdown in a big match type feel and let him carry the division for a while.
Yeah, the previous creative team failed to present tanahashi as a big deal. That's why they need to look back, see where they failed and improve.

Re: X division could do with a revamp
Well the good/bad thing about the X-Division right now is that once they know if/when Sorensen's cleared to wrestle they could take the belt off RVD and put it back on Ion since right now the division's doing nothing but filing time, build Ion back up and build his return. York could be a good option if they don't want him further up the card to maximize his time there.

Re: X division could do with a revamp
I think RVD with the title is a good thing but they need to give the guys a character and time to show off the character they have so they can get over. Ion, King, and York have a character because Ion thinks he looks great, King thinks he should just be giving the X title and York is like a Tommy Dreamer where he gets beat down and keeps coming back for more until he finally gets the big win.

Re: X division could do with a revamp
X-division will be good again soon. I hope people are not looking for crazy retarded wrestling. What i like about it is that its a compettitive belt when it needs to be. I dont want it to be strict to light weight flyers. The belt means more then that.
Thankfully we have "One night only" which is going to pretty much show case lots of new talent. Cool concepts. We will see the return of the 6 sided ring twice i believe for some of those events.
We have
TNA X-Travaganza, featuring the stars of the X-Division
TNA "10 Reunion" - Stars from the early days of TNA battling inside a Six-Sided ring.
TNA International Incident - One night tournament featuring talent from " United States, India, Mexico, Ireland, Canada, Germany,
Japan & the UK" with the winner earning a TNA title shot.
TNA X-Division World Cup Tournament - four teams of X-Division wrestlers in a one night tournament featuring singles, tag, six man and eight man tag bouts.
4 events that will have talent from all over the world.Which is dedicated to the x division.I mean international incident is going to be all kinds of people.Which i think is going to make it the best event.
I dont know why x-travaganza was not in 6 sideds.I guess because it had a ultimate x match which is much much much better inside 4 sides.

Re: X division could do with a revamp
They need to get Eric Young off the comedy, give him his World Elite gimmick, than throw him back in the X-Division.
And resign Petey Williams. Give him a nice 6-8 month title reign as a heel under the Little Petey Pump gimmick.
Throw Sabin back in. Make Velvet his in ring girl friend. If booked right and if Sabin develops the charisma they could be Edge/Lita.
There's. That's 3 big heels for the X-Division.

Re: X division could do with a revamp
A good idea for the X-Division is to hopefully have a talent sharing deal with DGUSA. Guys like Gargano, Chuck Taylor, Rich Swann, Ricochet etc. can wrestle a few matches on Impact and in return TNA will send some of their talent like RVD, Kenny King, Zema Ion, Christian York etc. to wrestle a few matches in DGUSA. Maybe some interpromotional feuds from Impact can carry over to DGUSA and vice versa. Gabe Sapolsky can suggest how to go about booking the X-Division feuds.

Re: X division could do with a revamp
Its clear all they did was Announce basic info.I dont think people realize in the end how good for us and the company "One night only" Events are for the long term. This is a great balance between story telling and mega events. Plus this is beyond going to bring so much new talent for one night matches to strike our eyes.So much new talent will probably come out of this over time.
Just themed raw wrestling.
Plus the mass talent they will find from Gut check
lots of new talent for the x division ect
This is going to be a fun interesting year.New different shows ect

Re: X division could do with a revamp
Here's the thing that has changed so dramatically with the X-Division in recent years - while it was built on the strength of the wrestling itself, that has shifted to a more character-based approach. Aries was great in the ring as X-Division Champ, but he carried the division on the strength of his mic skills. Now look at the guys on TV battling for that belt - Zema Ion, Kenny King, Christian York, & RVD - all of those guys can cut a solid promo. Also, with Rockstar Spud winning British Boot Camp, he's another guy who can talk and be entertaining outside the ring.
As good as guys like Sabin, Petey Williams, Sonjay Dutt, etc. are inside the ring, they never stood out when they had a microphone in their hand. Like it or not, talking is a big part of the wrestling business - and in today's TNA, it matters even in the X-Division.
Overall right now, there isn't a ton of depth though and that's part of the problem - Sabin & Sorenson are both out with injuries, but I'm not sure if it makes a ton of sense to introduce new characters for television if they won't be used regularly.
